Role: All Stars Cricket Champions (ASC)
Contract: Dec 2017 – July 2017
Salary: On a claim basis £15per hr & .40p per mile (average of approx. 10hrs a week)
Roles Required in;
- South West Wales: 4 roles: ASC in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Swansea & Neath & Port Talbot
- South East Wales: 4 Roles in Powys/BG/Torfaen; 1 in Newport/Caerphilly/Monmouthshire, 1 in Cardiff & Vale, In in ECT, Merthyr, Bridgend.
- North Wales: Various roles across North Wales including the local authorities of; Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire & Conway, Anglesey & Gwynedd and Ceredigion.
Role Overview
Do you want to inspire kids and families to get involved with Cricket? Do you love sport? Do you want to be part of an industry leading participation programme?
In 2017, the ECB launched All Stars Cricket, a brand-new programme aimed at providing 5-8 years with a great first experience of the game. In year one, just under 40,000 children took part in All Stars Cricket in clubs across England and Wales. In 2018, we aspire to recruit 100,000 kids into the programme. This won't be possible without having brilliant people supporting clubs and new centres.
We're looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals with a passion for kid’s sport and cricket. Additionally, you need to have strong communication and influencing skills and a thirst to achieve excellence to join the All Stars Champion team.
Roles and Responsibilities
All Stars Cricket Champions roles and responsibilities will include;
- Working alongside the Cricket Wales Area team to deliver the All Star 2018 programme strategy and targets
- Promoting All Stars Cricket extensively in local primary schools and encouraging transition into local centres.
- Create close relationships with the local authority sports and education departments to organise access into primary schools.
- Deliver in the schools to the target age group (5-8yr olds) Assemblies, Roadshows, Classroom, taster sessionsetc to give the children a flavour of the programme with the outcome of inspiring them to migrate to the local All-Star Centre (club)
- Building relationships and working with your local area All Star clubs in the 2018 programme to maximise the migration from local catchment schools to the local All-Star clubs. Including links to other local sports & social clubs, social media drives etc.
- Supporting clubs to develop and implement local marketing plans.
- Assist the Cricket Wales team in exciting new (clubs) centres about All Stars and recruiting them to deliver in 2018 programme.
- Supporting (clubs) centres to have everything they need in place to provide a safe and inclusive environment.
- Supporting Activator training.
- Getting out and about and supporting ASC (clubs) centres in action during the programme.
- Co-ordinating money can't buy experiences in programme and at ODIs and Tests.
- Providing ongoing support to centres and activators, and responding to any queries received.
- Monitoring, evaluating and supporting the end of programme review.
Preferred skills, knowledge and behaviours
- Experience of inspiring kids to be passionate about sport
- Experience of delivering sports activities with five to eight year olds
- Exceptional influencing skills to recruit new centres for 2018
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Confident in delivering presentations to groups of people i.e. school assemblies
- Highly developed communication skills in a variety of formats e.g. face to face, phone and e-mail
- Adaptable nature to accommodate flexible working patterns to meet the demands of working with volunteers
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Efficient time management
- Inspirational leader that can bring other people with them
- Attention to detail and a desire to exceed expectations

- Valid driving licence
- Be subject to an advanced disclosure barring service check
- Competent using Microsoft office
