Get Started with Pearson’s MyEnglishLab
Welcome to MyEnglishLab! This is a quick guide to prepare instructors for managing their MyEnglishLabprogram.

This site can be used for both teachers and students. Below are selected areas of online support.
Everything an instructor needs to be ready for the first day of class.
General Registration
- Go to
- Enter the access code. Click Next.
- Follow the prompts toconfirm product information. Click Next.
I. FIRST TIME USERS
- Click Create under Create an Account.
- Read the license agreement and click the box next to the statement I agree to the license agreement and clickNext.
- Enter your Personal information.Enter your Email Address, First or Given Name, Last Name or Surname, and Institution.For help with your Personal Informationclick here.
- Create your Account Information. Create a Username and Password. Confirm password. Click Next. For help with your Account Information click here.
- Review your information. Click Finish.
- Under your confirmation, click Go to your Product to begin working in your course.
- Complete your Personal Profile. On your Settings page under Personal Information, select your Country, Time Zone and Native Language. Click Save.
II. Returning Users
- Under Sign In, enter your Username and Password and click Sign In.
- Check your information and click Finish.
- Click Go to Product to set up your course.
*Once you have registered your product successfully, it is suggested that you bookmark . Use the bookmarked page to enter your MyEnglishLab program.

Navigate between the HOME/COURSE/GRADEBOOK/MESSAGES/SETTINGS tabs.

3-Breadcrumbs*
Defines the path of navigation links selected. Use to navigate.
4-Section Headers
Section Information provides a list of choices to select.
Section Tabs provides additional tabs within a section and provide specific information at a deeper level.
*Accessible from anywhere in the site except while in an activity.

Program Administrator and Batch Registration
Create Your Course(Teacher Role)
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click Create a new course.
- Enter Course Name and Course End Date. Select product by name and level from drop down list.
- Click Create Course. Note the course ID to share with others wishing to connect to your course.
Settings for Courses
- Select your Settings tab. Click the Edit link of the course you want to edit.
- Select Course Settings and review information provided for Course Information and Access Details section.
- Determine whether to enable the Messenger functions for students in your course.
- Make changes to the Course Settings section by selecting Specific settings to access General Settings for course.
- Display continuous enrolment information in the gradebook shows grades for deleted students.
- Automatically set score to 0% if student fails to submit an assignment or test submits a grade of 0% for students who do not submit the assignment by the due date.
- Default view for gradebookshow the students’ first, last, highest, or average grade received in the gradebook.
- Number of attempts until the Show Answer button is shown allows you to determine when the show answer will be made visible to your students.
- Number of attempts for each activity determines how many times the student attempts an activity.
- Show hints in each activityshows information or advice given to the student after submitting the answer to a question.
- Show tips in each activity to show ‘help’ for a student – before, during or after attempting an activity.
- Show feedback in each activity to show information or advice given for the student after submitting the answer to a question.Select Save to save updated course settings.
*Please note: Hints, tips, and feedback are not available for every activity.
- Select Grade Settingsto make changes on how grades are viewed for the course. Select Save.
- Assigning Practice Activities
- Select Courses tab and select the activity you wish to assign by clicking the assign link in the contents section.
- Complete assignment steps
- Select students (Only visible if students are enrolled in your course.)
- Determine a due date and time.
- Make changes to additional assignment settings.
- Correct use of capitalization is necessary for this question prompts the program to determine an answer correct/ incorrect based on the use of capitalization.
- Check punctuation prompts the program to determine an answer correct/ incorrect based on the use of punctuation marks.
- Review or grade assignments by selecting the Home tab > To Do List OR go to the Calendar tab to find the assignment date.
- Show and Hide Content
- Selectsmall circles to determine content to be shown or hidden from students.
*Note: Show/ Hide Content function is available for units and individual activities.
Student Enrollment
- Registering Single StudentsHELP
- Select Settings tab and select the edit link for course.
- Select Register new student(s) > Register Single Student tab
- Enter student information and click submit.
- Download Template to keep a record of the registration.
*Note: The Gradebook will not display until students are enrolled in the course.
- Registering Multiple StudentsHELP
- Select Settings tab and select the edit link for course.
- Select Register new student(s) > Register Multiple Students tab.
- Select Download Template. Follow prompts, enter student information starting on row 2 and save the file on your desktop. Do not change the format of the template.
- Select Import File. Follow the prompts to select pre-saved file and complete registration for multiple students.
- Select View to review the information and correct any errors. Click Submit. 10-15 minute process.
*Note: Do not enter additional spaces in a cell as it will cause an error or the username to include spaces or periods.
**Note: Do not use uppercase letters for email address, username, and password.
- Transferring students
- Select Settings tab and select the edit link for the course.
- Select the student(s) to move and select Move student(s) to another course.
- Select the course to move students to from list of courses and click Do you wish to transfer the student's Gradebook scores?
- Click Move.
- Confirm the change of course.
*Note: Students must have access to same level course in order for teachers to use the move from one course to another.

Student Registration and Enrollment Directions

Instructions for registering your student access code.
Your access code is (List Access Code).
- Go to
- Enter the access code. Click Next.

Instructions for joining my course (ENTER COURSE NAME).
- Go to (Enter website address of MyEnglishLab product).
- Select Login and Enter username and password.
- Select Settings tab > My Courses.
- Select Join a course.
- Enter the course ID and click OK.
