Position: Employment Support Project Officer

Term:Contract from 1st of March 2018 to 31st of December 2022

Reporting to: Individual Supports Manager

The purpose and function of the post:

The Employment Project Officer will be required to work as a member of the Goal 2 Team to provide services to the unemployed, under-employed and employers in the Gaeltacht catchment area.

  • To provide one to one support and guidance to the unemployed to help them in their progression from unemployment to employment
  • To prepare an Action Plan for each client and identify the supports required for each client
  • To Identify employment opportunities for the unemployed in the region and make your clients aware of the potential employment opportunity
  • To Assistthe clients with CV preparation
  • Liaise directly with Employers and provide a job matching service
  • To deliver ‘Job Ready Training’ to the range of target groups within the programme.
  • To maintain a database of clients/groups in DLDC’s catchment area.
  • To liaise directly with ETB, Solas, DSP and other public and private training providers and agencies.
  • To proactively promote the SICAP strategy throughout the catchment area, through a variety of media including information sessions, local media, outreach, site visits etc.
  • To manage your caseload efficiently and effectively in line with good governance and established company and funders procedures and guidelines
  • To provide oral and written reports to your line manager, and relevant Working Groups and the Board on progress and issues of relevance.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality initiatives.
  • To carry out administrative duties as required.
  • To be willing to work evenings and/or weekends as required.
  • To demonstrate a willingness to take on additional duties as and when required.

General Duties

  • Be responsible to Line Manager on all issues in relation to caseload delivery, including adherence to travel and subsistence.
  • Liaise with the Finance and Administration Department in relation to any queries which arise with regards to payments or general file administration.
  • Respond to any matters as requested by the CEO;
  • Manage special projects as required;
  • Represent the company in public specific issues;
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by Management;
  • Act up for Management as required;
  • Be willing to work evenings and/or weekends as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Ability to perform all aspects of the Job through the medium of Irish

Experience of working in a supportive capacity on a one to one basis with the unemployed

A Third level qualification

Excellent interpersonal, communication & coaching skills

Driving Licence and access to car

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Excellent knowledge of referral pathways & training opportunities for our clients

Good computer skills – MSOffice

Ability to work as a member of a team as well as on own initiative

Training delivery skills

SALARY: €32,181 pa

  • Bunachar sonraí a choinneáil ar chliaint /grúpaí i gceantar DLDC.
  • Teagmháil dhíreach le ETB, Solas, DSP agus soláthróirí agus gníomhaireachtaí eile poiblí agus príobháideacha.
  • Straitéis SICAP a chur chun cinn go réamhghníomhach ar fud an cheantair, a bhuí do na meáin éagsúla ar a n-áirítear seisiúin eolais, meáin áitiúla, for-rochtain, cuairteanna súimh & araile.
  • Bainistiú a dhéanamh ar do lód oibre go héifeachtach de réir deá-rialachas agus nósanna imeachta agus treoracha bhunaithe ag comhlachtaí agus maoinitheoirí.
  • Tuarascálacha béil agus scríofa a chur ar fáil do do bhainisteoir líne, agus do Ghrúpaí Oibre ábharatha agus don Bhord ar dhul chun cinn agus ar shaincheisteanna ábharthachta.
  • Seachadadh ar thionscadail den chéad scoth a chinntiú.
  • Dualgais riaracháin a dhéanamh nuair atá a leithéid de dhíth.
  • Bheith toilteanach oibriú sa tráthnóna agus/nó ag deireadh na seachtaine nuair atá a leithéid de dhíth.
  • Toilteanas a léiriú chun dualgais breise a dhéanamh nuair atá a leithéid de dhíth.
