Sophomore and Junior students who are interested in taking the PSAT test can sign up now in the counseling office. The PSAT is a practice SAT test and juniors who score high enough on the test may be eligible for National Merit Scholarships. The test will be given at the Bellevue Support Center on October 11th. To Register for the test, bring $18 to the counseling office. The deadline to register is September 21st.

OnThursday, October 19, Bellevue West will once again offer a free practice ACT assessment. This is a required school day and activity for students in grades 9-11. Any 12th grader that is interested in taking the practice ACT onOctober 19-needs to sign up in the counseling office byTodayso materials an be ordered. We will not be able to accept any names of 12th graders afterSeptember 14.

The purpose is to honor and celebrate the privileges and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship while commemorating the creation and signing of the supreme law of our land. In commemoration ofConstitutionDay, the Social Studies department is sponsoring aConstitutiontrivia contest. This year's question is:

The gourmet fruitcakes have been an annual fundraising tradition for Midlands Hospital over the past 30 years. Assignments can be tailored to fit all abilities or limitations. Buttering pans, measuring ingredients, mixing batter, and baking the cakes will begin next week. To learn more about joining the fun, please see Mrs. Sorensenfor a flyer.
