introduction

The District Institute of Education and Training, (DIET) Goner is located in village-Goner, block-Sanganer in Jaipur district. Goner village is situated about 30 km far from Jaipur city headquarters in the south-east. It is one of the most sacred place (pilgrimage site) in Jaipur district, that’s why the Goner is being developed as a religious tourism village.Here is a temple of Lord Lakshminarain ji, whose statue has appeared self.

The temple is almost 500 years old. It is said that Lord ‘Lakshminarain’appeared before a brahmin named Devdash, a resident of Sivadh and asked him to dug the ground in village Goner to find the idols.Devdas did so. He dug up the soil of that place and found the idols covered with sand.Thus, here the self-appeared idols of the Lord Laxminarain ji established in the temple. Some of the regular activities of the temple includes like: regular worships of the deity, performing ‘Arti’on fixed time slots, recitation of kirtan and bhajans regularly etc.It attracts innumerable worshippers and pilgrims to visit the holy ‘Jagdish Dham’ throughout the year.

The ‘DIET’s were established by the government ofRajasthan to execute the recommendations and to implement the plan of National Education Policy 1986, in order to improve the quality of basic education and to create a dynamic educational environment as well as to provide timely interventions to ensure quality education within the district.

  1. To provide trainings to ‘the in-service teachers’ and ‘the pre-service teachers’ of school education.
  1. To organize training programs repetitively for the instructors and observers related to the formal and continuing education.
  1. To organize orientation & training programs for the head of institutions (headmasters) how to prepare the planning for ‘institutional- management’ as well as ‘planning at the micro level’.
  1. To ensure conduction and completion of the ‘8th board exams’ in the district.
  1. To organize orientation (training) programs attaching the self -service social institutions/NGOs and other staffs to functioning the teaching learning process at the grass root level.
  1. To execute and encourage the practical and action research related tasks.
  1. To play a role of the ‘Evaluation-center’ for primary, upper primary, formal education and continuing education.
  1. To play a role of the ‘Resource- center’ providing learning materials and teaching-learning material for teachers and instructors.
  1. To extend advice and provide cooperation to the district education units.
  2. To make sincere efforts for publication of educational research, innovations and other related tasks.
  1. More emphasis is delivered towards the development of teaching-learning materials, syllabus and text material development and evaluation related tasks.
