  • All Event Marshalls to wear reflective jackets and carry a mobile phone or two way radio
  • All Participants Park their cars in the Safari Park. Only Marshals Helpers and Campers have access by car onto Rhydd Covert. Also Car Park & Registration arrangements are in the Plod Booklets.
  • Avoid traffic movements on site.
  • No waiting cones and signs to be placed in specific locations to help reduce congestion. (Rhydd Covert & Safari Park)
  • All Marshalls briefed on the morning of the Plod.
  • Any vehicle movements in the core area during the event should be in extreme circumstances only and should be accompanied by a Marshall

  • Wear appropriate footwear / clothing
  • Remain observant for trip hazards during the walk
  • Stay on designated route
  • Marshalls on designated points around the route to direct people as required
  • Take consideration of age/learning ability, physical capability and any medical conditions
  • Marshalls to act as sweepers at the end of the event. (Scouts & Guides)
  • All participants to register in/out
  • In touch system to be used as per POR (Scouts)
  • Some young people walk with their Parents/Relatives
  • Identifiable Leaders for each section. – Lead Role
  • First Aid- each Warrant Leader is a trained in First Aid and is advised to carry a small first aid kit.
  • Other user groups or contractors on site same day Plod Coordinator to liaise with the Ranger Service WFDC
  • Any Discarded Hypodermic Needles found – will be reported to the Marshal and arrangements are in place to remove them safely.

We will still display the posters around the registration area.
