DISTRICT 6980 STRATEGIC PLAN 2016-2021
Rotary District 6980’s strategic plan provides the framework for our future, ensuring that we continue to be known as a respected, dynamic organization that advances communities worldwide.
Our Mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity and advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through our fellowship of business,, professional, and community leaders.
Our Strategic Plan identifies seven strategic priorities with various goals. These goals are needed to ensure a strong and vibrant Rotary District going into the future.
- DISTRICT LEADERSHIP
- Develop a succession plan for all District Chairs: Foundation, Membership, Public Image, Service Projects, Administration, Youth Services and District Secretary and District Treasurer
- Each District Chair to develop a Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) for their area
- District Leadership should be oriented prior to July 1. A Leadership Retreat is an example of an orientation
- DACDB training for all Presidents, AGs, District Leadership team, Secretaries and Treasurers
- District Training Seminars should be one or two days with breakout rooms for each area (in July and/or August)
- Encourage Rotary Leadership Institute for all District Leadership
- Encourage District IT (Information Technology) development
- Investigate the prospect of a part time secretary or webmaster or IT person
- Encourage Rotarians to serve at District level at the District Training Assembly
- Encourage new ideas in club meetings
- Reestablish the speakers list
- Try new methods of communications
- 10% increase in Clubs receiving Presidential Citation per year
- FOUNDATION
- 100% club participation in setting goals on Rotary.org
- 100% club participation in Annual Giving-Share program
- 100% club participation in Polio Plus giving
- Increase Paul Harris Fellows, Major Donors and Bequest Society members by 5%
- Increase Rotary Direct participation by 10%
- All clubs participate in a District Grant and/or Global Grant
- All clubs attend the Grant Management Seminar annually
- SERVICE PROJECTS
- 100% club participation in posting of Service projects on Rotary Showcase
- Participate in showcasing service projects at the District Conference
- Any District Service projects should be multi-area, various times in the District and include Interact and Rotaract Clubs
- YOUTH SERVICES
- Encourage clubs to sponsor Interact and/or Rotaract Clubs
- Rotaract Presidents-Elect attend PETS
- DACDB training for Rotaractors
- Rotaract Clubs encourage to attain Rotaract Presidential Citation by posting on Rotary.org
- Encourage clubs to sponsor students in the RYLA program
- District training for the Advisors, Interact and Rotaract
- Plan to have a World Interact Week during the week with November 5
- Plan to have a World Rotaract Week during the week with March 13
- Encourage clubs to host a Youth Exchange student
- MEMBERSHIP
- Diversity progression for five years
- 10% increase in females- 2% per year
- 5% increase in other minorities- 1% per year
- Increase membership by 60 per year
- District goal of 2100 members in five years
- Retention of members
- Increase the number of RLI starts by 5% per year
- Train clubs in running an effective fireside chat
- Encourage more fellowship events in clubs
- District leadership should find and promote methods that are working in clubs
- CLUB ADMINISTRATION
- Increase training for Treasurers and Secretaries
- 100% Computer literate in five years
- Cut late reports down to zero
- PUBLIC IMAGE
- First class monthly newsletter
- Develop more media contacts
- Use Facebook and other media to tell clubs and District story
- Well published events
- 100% clubs receiving Public Image Citation
