1.3.1   ASTM E 84 - Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials.

1.4   SUBMITTALS

1.4.1   Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.

1.4.2   Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

1.4.2.1   Preparation instructions and recommendations.

1.4.2.2   Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.

1.4.2.3   Installation methods.

1.4.3   Shop Drawings: provide schematics of mechanical and electrical connections.

1.4.4   Verification Samples: For each finish product specified when different colors are available, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square representing actual product.

1.5   QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.5.1   Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience manufacturing similar products.

1.5.2   Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience installing similar products.

When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.

1.5.3   Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.

1.5.3.1   Finish areas designated by Architect.

1.5.3.2   Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship is approved by Architect.

1.5.3.3   Rework mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.6   PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS

1.6.1   Convene minimum two weeks prior to starting work of this section.

1.7   DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.7.1   Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation.

1.7.2   Handling: Handle materials to avoid damage.

1.8   PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.8.1   Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.9   SEQUENCING

1.9.1   Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

1.10   WARRANTY

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** NuAire's laboratory equipment warranties are as follows:

1.10.1   Warranty: Manufacturer's warranty shall not apply to any product or part thereof which has been subject to misuse, abuse, accident, shipping damage, improper installation or service, or damage by fire, flood or acts of God. If the serial number of this product is altered, removed or defaced as to be illegible, the warranty shall be null and void in its entirety.

1.10.1.1   Class II, Type A2 Bio-safety Cabinets with DC-ECM Motors:

1.10.1.1.2   72 months (International, Parts Only).

1.10.1.9   Refrigerated and Incubator products have a 24 month warranty.

1.10.1.10   All Products sold internationally are covered with a 48 months Parts-Only warranty.

1.10.2   Air Flow Products:

1.10.2.1   Manufacturer warrants that it will repair F.O.B. its factory or furnish without charge, a similar part to replace any material in the equipment within 36 months after the date of sale:

1.10.2.1.1   If proven to the satisfaction of the company to have been defective at the time it was sold.

1.10.2.1.2   Failed during the covered period, provided that all parts claimed defective shall be returned, properly identified with a return authorization.

1.10.2.2   Factory installed, customer specified equipment or accessories are warranted only to the extent guaranteed by the original manufacturer, and this warranty shall not apply to any portion of the equipment modified by the user/customer. Claims under this warranty should be directed to Manufacturer Technical Service Department setting forth in detail the nature of the defect, the date of the initial installation and the serial and model numbers of the equipment.
