Rochdale Pioneers Museum Group Visits

Charges

Admission to the Rochdale Pioneers Museum is free however to get the most from your visit we recommend that groups book a guided tour. Guided tours are led by highly experienced and knowledgeable museum staff. Tours generally last 30 minutes however can be shortened or extended to meet your needs.

Tours have a capacity of around 35 people. If you have a group larger than this we can offer a split tour. Half of the group will enjoy a 30 minute tour whilst the other half will watch a selection of co-operative films in our Learning Loft. The groups will then switch places. Additionally we can offer a range of talks and presentations on various co-operative themes. Please ask for further details.

Guided tour / £3.50 per person (minimum charge £35)
Guided tour with a cup of tea or coffee / £4.00 per person (minimum charge £40)

Discretion will be exercised for guided tours arranged for major donors.

Facilities

The museum has toilet facilities including baby changing and disabled facilities. The museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users with lift access to all floors.

Coach parking

Coaches are advised to drop visitors off on the Toad Lane side of Hunter’s Lane to avoid the need to cross Hunter’s Lane. Coaches should not park across the end of Toad Lane as other cars use the road. Coaches should park just beyond Toad Lane to drop visitors off.Once visitors have disembarked the coach driver will received a parking permit to park in the loading bay of the Exchange Shopping Centre which is just off Hunter’s Lane.

Overseas visitors

The museum can accommodate overseas visits but recommends that an interpreter is provided for non-English speaking groups.

Refreshments

We can provide tea and coffee for your group. If you would like tea and coffee please ensure you put this onyour booking form as we are unable to provide this if not booked in advance.

Shop

The museum shop contains a range of Co-operative themed souvenirs and gifts including postcards, bags, books, pencils, mugs and DVDs. If you wish you we can make up goody bags in advance of your visit for each member to receive, price subject to contents selected.

If your party wishes to eat in Rochdale please make sure you book in advance. The Baum pub next to the museum can accommodate groups as can Rochdale Town Hall. Contact details are below.
