Director of Business Development/Sales

Job Description:

Director of Business Development is responsible to enhance the growth and value of the Company, by aggressively pursuing sales in the Military Fixed and Rotary-wing replacement parts markets. The position requires someone with the ability to work and develop relationships across the Military Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Military acquisition and contracting.
  • Increase sales revenues to Military markets.
  • Establish current customer contact base of decision makers within the Military marketplace.
  • Construct sales objectives, plans and forecasts based on market analysis and business trend analyses.
  • Provide leadership in the development of short and long term strategic sales objectives with HCOA sales staff.
  • Work closely with production operations to coordinate sales forecasts.
  • Expand and grow business base by developing key senior business relationships in the Military Fixed and Rotary-wing replacement parts marketplace.
  • Ensure business partners, dealers, representatives and other independent business partners are qualified.
  • Prepare and present briefings to Government and decision-makers to increase exposure of Company’s product strengths, capabilities and solutions.
  • Oversee solicitations and proposal efforts for Military Fixed and Rotary-wing markets.
  • Ensure on time submittals for contracts.
  • Provide and ensure general understanding of contract terms and conditions, including risk identification and mitigation.
  • Coordinates with the Compliance department including ITAR.
  • Assess and ensure post-win customer satisfaction through training and communication.
  • Perform competitive market analysis. Monitor competitive activity and identify customer needs.
  • Share results of market analysis to identify new products in support of customer requirements with the Research and Development Engineering team.
  • Identify potential competitor risks and develop avoidance and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor contracting information through interaction with Contract Administration Department personnel.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestic as required for business meetings and trade shows.
  • Strong participate in developing the five (5) year Strategic Plan for HCOA.
  • Knowledge of commercial aircraft platforms a customers a plus.

Education/ Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Sales & Marketing or applicable Business Degree; Masters level degree a plus.
  • Military rank of Lieutenant Colonel or higher with the United States Military.
  • Significant experience in government acquisition and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Understanding of US Contracting and DOD budgeting processes.
  • Experience in creating market awareness and brand promotion.
  • Knowledge of marketing to depots and prime contracts.
