RULES & REGULATIONS

(1)Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with the Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B, or else registration or transfer of registration must have been applied for. The registration number/authority to compete(ATC) number will be required for each entry.

(2)All dogs registered or resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete(ATC) number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without a Kennel Club Registration number or an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.

(3)Entry fees: £2.90 per dog per class; helping members £1.50 per dog per class

(4)No prize money is on offer.

(5)Entries may be made over the internet via LN Show Services

(6)The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries.

(7)Only dogs of 18 calendar months of age and over on the first day of the show are eligible to compete at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows.

(8)Organisers of Open Agility Shows may set a capping level on the entries to be accepted in any standard or special class, and may decline entries after the capping level has been reached. State if specific classes are to be capped and the capping limit. The capping level must be setat a minimum of 250 entries received. There is no maximum level at which a cap may be set.

(9)Not for competition (NFC) entries will be accepted for dogs aged four calendar months or over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered with their details recorded on the entry form.

(10)No bitch in season is allowed to compete.

(11)No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the show.

(12)Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting leather or webbing collar is permitted providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar, i.e. not attached by a ring.

(13)Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge, the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge. Additional judges will be appointed if necessary.

(14)No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges.

(15)Sponsored classes:- 20, 21 - Brillo International Bounce, 22 - K9 Kneads.

(16)Kennel Club standard marking regulations apply for all standard classes

(18)The height limit for dogs:-

Large dog classes – for dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers.

Medium dog classes – for dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) and measuring 430mm (1ft 5 ins) or under at the withers.Small dog classes – for dogs measuring 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) or under at the withers.

(19)Judges at an agility show may not enter for competition a dog which is recorded in their ownership or part ownership; or handle a dog at the show at which they are judging. Dogs may be disqualified if proved to have beenhandled in the class by the scheduled judge's spouse or immediate family, or resident at the same address as the scheduled judge.

(20)Withdrawal of dogs from the test. A dog shall be withdrawn from competition and removed from the test if it is:

a - a bitch in season

b - suffering from any infectious or contagious diseases

c - interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent

d - of such temperament or is so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any person or animal

e - likely to case suffering to the dog if it continues competing

(21)In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the START of the competition, (3rd June 2014), shall be counted when entering any class. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show, after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitor’s responsibility to notify the show secretary or L & N Show Services at least 14 days (14th June 2014) before the date of the show. The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. The dog must be moved into the corresponding classes as were entered at the lower grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade the competitor should be offered a refund of the relevant entry fees.

(22)Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the Judges may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the Kennel Club.

(23)In the event that the show is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the society will refund fees, less reasonably occurred expenses. If the show processor has the provisions to do so, competitors will be refunded in the mannerin which they entered the show, but in any event the society will refund fees within 3 months of the show date on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope within 1 month of the show date.

(24)Food shall not be carried in the hand or given to a dog in the ring.

(25)Should the judge deem a rerun is required, any result and/or faults gained in the previous run must be discounted.

(26)Separate entry forms must be completed by each owner and must be signed by the owner or his authorised agent in accordance with the provisions specified thereon.Entry forms must be accompanied with the appropriate fees.

(27)Free passes - Not Applicable

(28)Competition of Dogs Suffering from Contagious or Infectious Diseases - No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period 21 days prior to the competition may compete. Competitors infringing the regulation will be liable to be fined and/or dealt with under Kennel Club rule A42.

(29)It is the competitor's responsibility to be available for their class and running order. Competitors must run as close to their running order as possible. Failure to do so may be reported to the Kennel club.

(30)Animals in Event

No animal other than one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except any dogs registered to assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee.

However, at the discretion of the show society, a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the dog show, with the proviso that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control at all times.

(31)A pay on the day class will be held if time permits.

(32)A practice ring may be available to dogs entered for competition at the show, if space allows. This ring must be supervised by a responsible adult with agility knowledge.

(33)Welfare of Dogs

An exhibitor (or competitor) whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dogs' health and welfare at riskby any action default, omission or otherwise. A beach of this Regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.

(34)All dogs are entered at their owner’s risk, whilst every care will be taken, the Club will not accept responsibility for the loss, damage or injury to persons, dogs or property however caused whilst at the show.

(35)Competitors must follow the instruction of stewards with respect to parking and conduct within the showground.

(36)No bicycles shall be ridden around the showground.

(37)Goods may not be sold within the precincts of the showground without prior knowledge of the committee

(38)Competitors and/or owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs, suitable arrangements will be made for disposal, anyone failing to do so may be asked to leave the show

(39)Under no circumstances will practice equipment be permitted anywhere on the showground.

(40)Parents/guardians/responsible adults are responsible for the behaviour/safety of children under the age of 18 in their control.

(41)Dogs shall be on the lead unless in competition or in the exercise area.

(42)No more than 2 dogs per handler shall be off the lead at anytime in the exercise area.

(43)There shall be no throwing of toys in the exercise area.

(44)No disposable BBQs shall be used if BBQs are used they shall be off the ground.

(45)Generators are to be switched off before 10pm

(46)All campers are to supply their own Fire Fighting Equipment or a bucket of water.

(47)Overpaid entries will not be refunded.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES

In the following definitions of classes first prizes or other prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed Championship Agility, Premier Agility, Open Agilityor Limited Agility Shows(i.e. special classes and invitation events excepted), only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the Judge will count towards grade progression.

Agility classes to include contact obstacles & Jumping classes where there are not contact obstacles. With this proviso classes are defined as follows:

Class Structure. A Class may either be held as a Graded Class or a Combined Class. A Graded Class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive Grades with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A Combined Class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results.

Progression. Progressionfrom eachGradewill requireone Agilitywin orthreeJumpingwins in standard classes atthat grade,except that progressionfromGrade5 willrequire3 wins atGrade5,oneofwhichmust be an agilityclass, progressionfromGrade6 willrequire4 wins atGrade 6 twoofwhichmust be agilityclasses Resultsfrom CombinedClasseswillonlycounttowardsprogressionfromthe dog’scurrentgrade

Points Progression. Atthe handler’sdiscretiona dogmayprogressuptoGrade4 bywinning100 pointsateach grade,usingthe AgilityWarrantpoint’sscheme,(RegulationK3.crefers),exceptthatthereisno requirementfora minimumnumberof agilitypoints.Ifthismethodofprogressionisselected,thehandlermust ensuretheShow Secretarysignsthe dog’sAgilityRecordBook atthefirstshowenteredatthe highergrade.Thereisnotimelimit on thisprogression,however,oncea dog has progressed,itcannotreturntoa previousgrade.

Progression on points must be done prior to the closing date of entry. It is not possible to change grade on points once the entries have closed

STANDARD CLASSES

Onlyfirst prizesand pointsgainedinstandardclassesatKennelClublicensedAgilityShowsmaybeused forprogressionthroughtheclasses.(Adogisonlyeligiblefor onegrade).In definingtheeligibilityof the owner or handlerfor Grade1, the threejumpingwinsandpoint’sprogressionreferredtointhedefinitionapplyonlyto one dogand notan accumulationofdogs.

Grade 1 (Elementary)

For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Kennel Club licensed agility shows. (N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 (Elementary) are not eligible for this class).

Grade 2 (Starters)

Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grades 1,3,4,5,6,7 and have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. (N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 (Starters) are not eligible for this class).

Grade 3 (Graduate)

Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7.

Grade 4 (Novice)

Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7

Grade 5 (Intermediate)

Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 or elected to progress on points from Grade 4 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7.

Grade 6 (Senior)

Open to dogs which have gained a minimum ofthree first places atGrade5at Kennel Club licensed agility shows,onefirst placemust begained in agility(not jumping)classes and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5 or 7.

Grade 7 (Advanced)

Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows, two first places must be gained in agility (not jumping) classes.

Special Combined 1 – 7 AllsortsJumping

Special class open to any dog NOT entered in any other Class at the show. A jumpingclasswithnoweaves,longjumportyre.Jumpswillbeset at25cm (micro)or 35cm (small). Competitors maychoosewhichheight theirdogrunsat ontheday. Anopenclass for allsmall/medium/largedogswithoneset ofresults.

Brillo International Bounce

We are delighted to announce that the Brillo International Bounce will continue in 2014. The competition for both small and medium size dogs was a great success and we hope that competitors will continue to enjoy and support it. The Finals will again be held at Blenheim ATC Agility Show Weekend at West Midlands Showground, Shrewsbury on Saturday 6th September 2014 kindly judged by one of last year’s finalists Championship Agility Judge Don Cooper.

The class must be judged using current Kennel Club rules and each host venue will chose which grades are included for each size of Brillo International Bounce qualifier.

From each qualifier the top 3 will receive an invitation to attend the final, a total of 45 of each size of dog. The Final and last qualifiers (Small & Medium) will be held at Blenheim ATC Agility Show Weekend at West Midlands Showground, Shrewsbury on Saturday 6th September 2014.
