Directions to Porter-Gaud School:

From Downtown Charleston

Take Calhoun Street West, which merges with the James Island Expressway. Once on the expressway, move into the right lane. Get off at the first exit (Summerville, Hwy 61). Turn left at the first light onto Ashley Pointe Road and proceed one block to Albemarle Road. The school is on the left.

From N. Charleston/Summerville via I-26

Stay on I-26 into the city of Charleston. I-26 becomes the cross-town route and merges into Hwy 17 going south. Stay on the Crosstown and cross over the Ashley River Bridge. Just after the bridge, continue past the round Holiday Inn and look for the left turn lane that goes to the traffic light(under the overpass) at Albemarle Road. Going through that light will put you on Albemarle which will lead you directly to the school.

From Mt. Pleasant via Hwy 17 S

Coming in on Hwy 17 South. Cross the new Arthur Ravenel Bridge (Cooper River Bridge). Stay in one of the two left lanes. Follow the signs for Savannah and merge onto the Crosstown(still hwy 17). Stay on the Crosstown and cross over the Ashley River Bridge. Just after the bridge, continue past the round Holiday Inn and look for the left turn lane that goes to the traffic light(under the overpass) at Albemarle Road. Going through that light will put you on Albemarle which will lead you directly to the school.

From Hilton Head, Ridgeland, and Beaufort via Hwy 17 N

As you near the city, you will first see a sign at the intersection of Hwy 17 and 7. Continue on Hwy 17 (Savannah Highway). Eventually, you will see on your left some Rick Hendricks auto dealerships. Keep going and, again on your left, you will see Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and School and, just beyond that, John Wesley Methodist Church. Continue on Hwy 17 for a short distance. You will see on your left an Exxon station on one corner and Ye Old Fashion Ice Cream and Sandwich Cafe on the other corner. This is Wesley Drive. Turn left onto Wesley Drive and go to the next corner, where you will turn right onto Highway 61. Stay in the right lane, which will take you onto the Highway 61 Connector. Turn right from the Connector at the second light (Ashley Pointe Road) and proceed one block to Albemarle Road. The school is on the left.
