Directions to Make a Movie!

  1. Scroll your arrow down to the start menu.


  1. Once this menu has opened, scroll to all programs. This will open yet another menu.
  2. Once this menu has opened scroll the pointer up to the Windows Live Movie Maker and double click.
  3. This will open the movie maker.

  1. In the upper left hand side, there is a button that says, add videos and photos. Click on this.
  2. Once you have clicked on the add videos and photos tab, it will bring up the files in your computer.
  3. Click on the pictures file.
  4. To add all of the pictures you have saved to your computer
  5. Click on one to highlight it.
  6. Hold the control button down( Ctrl found at the bottom left of your keyboard)
  7. While holding the control button down use the mouse and select the other pictures.
  8. Once you have highlighted/ selected the pictures you wish to use, scroll the mouse down to the open button. Click this.
  9. Once your pictures have been added to your video, you will be able to organize them in any order you wish by simply using the mouse to click on the picture, hold the button down, and drag it to its desired position.
  10. Now that you have added your pictures, it is time to add your captions. These captions will be the facts from the endangered species worksheet . Scroll to the top left, just right of the photo/video tab and there will be three pictures. These pictures are your caption tabs.
  11. Click on the desired picture, you wish to add a caption on. Once this picture is selected scroll to the caption button you wish to use and click it once. This will add a caption box to your picture.
  12. Once the caption box is on your pictures, click it and you will be able to type your facts.
  13. To make sure the facts will show up, you can change the font color and size of your text.
  14. To change the font color and size of your text, highlight the text, and go up to the format tab. This will provide you with multiple options to change your text, to something you like. Feel free to have fun with this, but remember when you present it, you will have an audience.
  15. Once you have figured out how to add pictures and captions It is time to learn how to add music.
  16. Right next to where the add videos and photos button is, there is a button that says: add music
  17. Bring your favorite, appropriate cd (discussed in class) and use it for the video. This is the time to put the CD in the player.
  18. Click on the add music tab. This will open up your computers files. On the far left there is a vertical scroll bar. Move this until you see, “My computer.”
  19. Once you see this scroll down further until you reach, Local disk (J).
  20. Click on this and will bring up the music you have put in the player.
  21. Select the song you want, and double click.
  22. This will add it to your movie. Feel free to adjust the music to fit to your movie pictures. There are options to adjust the length of the music, and how it begins and ends. Once you have reached this point, raise your hand, and I can help you.
