Overall job purpose /
  • Direct and manage computing and information technology strategic plans, policies, programs, and schedules for business and data processing, voice communications, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish the Services goals and objectives.
  • Develop and establish operating policies and approaches for computing and information technology.Evaluate overall operations of computing and information technology functions and recommend enhancements.
  • Oversee the use of Information Technology within the Service, and develop a cohesive IT, IT Security, Data Security and IT Governance strategies across the Service, are aligned to Business Strategy and best practice.
  • Direct the information and data integrity of the Service and its business units.
  • Working with external suppliers to ensure that operational and business needs are achieved, and provide regular reporting on operational activities against agreed SLA’s and KPIs. Also ensuring that all IT suppliers are compliant with contractual terms and regulatory compliance.
  • To manage and continually improve all aspects of the Service’s customer relationships in relation to IT services using established ITIL service management processes to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Create / Develop an effective team to deliver IT services and compliance across the organisation, working with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that best practices are applied and compliance risks recorded and mitigation plans are in place when required.
  • Responsible for the scope, design and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and advise on the Service on adoption and training.
  • Advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.
  • Review and approve contracts for computing and information technology services, data processing and equipment, ensuring that all contracts and services are compliant to DPA & GDPR regulations.
  • Provide advice on the development, design, and implementation of new applications and the transition into BAU.
  • Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all Business Continuity, back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
  • Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.
  • Oversee ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancements.
  • Chair on IT and Security planning and policy-making groups.

Key accountabilities /
  • Set objectives, roadmap and strategies for the IT department
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient execution of IT service strategy across the organisation.
  • Create a roadmap for delivery of an IT and Data compliance system.
  • Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance.
  • Overall responsibility for the delivery of day-to-day operations.
  • Leading the technical and operational strategy for delivery and support of platforms, partnerships and external relationships.
  • Work on cross-functional projects to identify security or compliance risks and provide direction for mitigation.
  • Design a process for on boarding systems into BAU.
  • Work closely with all departments to identify system enhancements.
  • Identify, compare and select technology solutions to meet current and future needs.
  • Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits.
  • Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve user experience.
  • Contract management and negotiations across the Service to ensure IT security and compliance.
  • Advising the Service on the impact to data and systems of any business rule changes and moves away from the agreed IT strategies.
  • Responsible for the delivery of a coherent and tested BCP/DR for the Service.

Essential requirements /
  • Management of staff and projects.
  • ITIL, GDPR and ISO27001 qualifications
  • A hands-on ability to offer long-term workable solutions and act as an internal technology and data consultant.
  • Understanding of relevant systems architecture, security and data management.
  • Good understanding of IT systems and networks
  • Solid experience of developing and deploying ITIL service management processes as well as continuous service improvement.
  • Demonstrable experience managing relationships and customer demand as well as service delivery
  • Solid service and supply management experience (with experience of service delivery through third party providers)
  • Strong project management and delivery focus and skillset.
  • Good knowledge of latest software application and service technologies, platforms and infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of data and IT security policies and practices.
  • Excellent team player, with good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong budget management skills, CAPEX/OPEX with good financial acumen to inform commercial decision-making.
