Digital Media Coordinator and Assistant Director of Annual Giving

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Digital Media Coordinator and Assistant Director of the Annual Givingis responsible for developing and executing overall strategy for social media and digital fundraising and marketing efforts for St. Mary’s Catholic Center at Texas A&M University. The successful candidate will impact the St. Mary’s brand through progressive fundraising and marketing strategies across all digital media. He/she will be responsible for attracting and engaging benefactors through social media and websites. Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) techniques and current trends and best practices to improve online fundraising and marketing opportunities is required. Excellent critical thinking skills, creativity and verbal and written communication skills are required.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities(including, but not limited to):

  • Support Annual Giving and Capital Campaign consultants in executing plans and strategies.
  • Assist in creating marketing promotions for all fundraising events to ensure consistency and cohesiveness of the brand.
  • Create content (text and visual) for digital communications, including for social media, websites and email correspondence for development programs.
  • Maintain a digital media fundraising and marketing campaign as well as monitor and maintain all digital media outlets.
  • Analyze the success of online initiatives and report to key staff members.
  • Collaborate with Campus Ministry staff on Digital Media initiatives and strategies.
  • Identify and recommend digital and social media trends relevant to development.
  • Create basic graphic design elements to be used in social media.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years with the following type of experience is required:

  • Social Media, Interactive, Web and Public Relations skills

Superior knowledge of web platforms such as WordPress or Drupal.

Strong knowledge of HTML and PHP.

Knowledge of online technology, including blogs, social networks, virtual worlds, wiki’s, mobile and other emerging trends- including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Instagram and Pinterest

Superior knowledge of Social Media landscapes, networks, toolsets

Strong communication, research, presentation and creative skills.

  • Passion for new media that will be infectious among colleagues, benefactors, and the entire St. Mary’s family
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Full knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Powerpoint, Word
  • Must be creative and be able to think outside of the box
  • Has a familiarity with and an appreciation for the practices and teachings of the Catholic Church
