Diary Zaalklap Pollution
- Towards mid April the said river's flow stopped as result of poor rainfall in the area.
- Wednesday 2 May- Water in theZaalklap started to flow -The cattle was still drinking with no signs of any effects.
- Thursday 3 May- Water became white in colour.
- Friday 4 May- Water white in colour.
- Saturday 5 May- Water turned Red Brown - Cattle leakedwater but refuse to drink.
- Sunday 6 May- Water still the same - Cattle suffers diarrhoea.
- Monday 7 May- Matter reported to Dept Water affairs Bronkhorstspruit who took samples from the neighboring farm of Mr.Truter ( Dairy Palour).
- Wednesday 9 May- Matter reported to Mr. N Dooge - Oliphant's River Forum.
- Wednesday 9 May- Matter reported to Mr. Albert Dresser - Nature conservation Loskop Dam.
- Friday 10 May- Mr. Dresser visited Dwandzani and took samples.
- Sunday 13 May- Urgent E -mail to Mr. van Asweger Dept Water Affairs.
- Sunday 13 May- Urgent E -mail toMr. N Dooge - Oliphant's river Forum.
- Monday 14 May- Call from Mr. Lesiba Dept Wateraffairs Bronkhorstspruit- Visited the same at his office and was told that samples were taken andhe was awaiting the results.
- Monday 14 May- Mr. Piet Wessels - Oliphant's River Forum took samples -Dwandzani. Below Elandsfontein mine - Old Witbank rd.
- Tuesday 15 May- Water became clear and water flow increased almost double! All reb substance down on river bed(metals).
- Monday 21 May- Results ( Dated 18 May )from Mr. Piet Wessels / Regen Water Witbank - See Annexure
- Friday 25 May- Visited Elandsfontein mine - Manager Mr. Rob Bride advised us on spillage of Old Haford Mine and refers to Regen Water who will make available monthly samples taken by his company for record purposes.
- Friday 25 May - Accompany Mr. Lesiba who advised that there are no flow of the Zaalklp at theN4 bridge to show water flow - More samples taken.
- Monday 28 May - Received water results taken by Elandsfontein group from Regen Waterand forward the same to Mr. van Aswegen Dept Water Affairs –
- Sun 3 June -Call from Elsabe Bosh – Problem in Wilge river – Photos received “ More bad news”
- Fri 8 June -Call from Henk Lodewijk ; source not know yet! Some one flew the Wilge river ???
- Thur. 14 June -Meeting DWARF and ORF and mines Samples taken and handed to DWARF
