About the Music Camp Scholarship
The Aiken Singers Summer Music Camp Scholarships are part of the Diane Haslam Vocal Scholarship Performance Scholarship program. They are intended to give financial helpto high school studentsin grades 9 through 12 wishing to attend Summer Music Programs specializing in either solo singing, chorus training or theater singing. Three awards, consisting of the lesser of the cost of the camp or $300.00, will be awarded in 2018.
The scholarship committee will consider applications on a first come/first served basis. All applicants are required to write a paragraphdescribing how the summer music camp will benefit them.Additionally after attending the camp, all winners of a scholarship are required to send a follow-up note to the scholarship committee chairperson outlining what they learned at the camp and what the camp did to further their appreciation of vocal music.
Eligibility
The scholarships are available for all students,grade 9 to 12, living orcurrently attending high school in the South Carolina counties of Aiken, Barnwell, or Edgefield or in the Georgia counties of Richmond or Columbia. Once an applicant has chosen a music camp they should send an email to to seek approval of that camp. Applicants may then apply to that camp and once accepted they can forward the acceptance letter and the application form to the scholarship committee.Applicants must submit a written application any time fromJan 1, 2018 to May 31, 2018.
