Diamonds of Distinction Half-Carat Scholarship Program

Diamonds of Distinction offers nonrenewable scholarships for the high school girls that participate and successfully complete the “Sparkle” Mentorship Program.

Diamonds of Distinction Half-Carat Scholarship Program will award two (2) $500 scholarships each year, depending on available funds, to two high school seniors entering into a college or university to help with the cost and financial obligations of attending a college or university. The girls must meet the requirements set forth in the program’s guidelines in order to receive the award. Awards are paid directly to the recipient’s college or university. If the recipients fail to attend the college or university or drops below full-time status, Diamonds of Distinction will seek the return of those funds from the educational institution to which they were paid.

The deadline to submit an application is March25, 2017and all applications must be post marked by this date. No application will be accepted after the deadline.

All applications should be sent to Diamonds of Distinction, Attn: Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 542081, Grand Prairie, TX75054-2081. An acknowledgement email will be sent to each applicant upon receipt.

All documents submitted to the Half-Carat Scholarship Program are confidential and will become the property of the program and thus no documents will be returned to the applicant. All documents should have your first and last name on each page of the submitted documents.

To be eligible to receive a scholarship each applicant must meet the minimum requirements.

Complete and submit a Diamonds of Distinction Half-Carat Scholarship Application packet
Complete Sparkle Mentorship Program
Be a senior high school student
Possess a cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of not less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Submits official transcripts from high school
Provide proof of college or university acceptance
Attend the college or university as a full-time student in which the applicant has been accepted
Provide Registrar Office proof of registered classes
Submit one (1) type-written essay of 600-700 words on the topic: Describe one specific example of your leadershipability?
Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from a teacher or counselor and an adult other than your parents
