1. Cover 1st base on grounder to right side of infield.
2. Cover 3rd when 3rd baseman makes play on short hit.
Catcher
1. Charge after the short hit
2. Cover home with runners on 3rd
1st Baseman
1. Cover 1st on plays to 1st base.
2. Charge short hits down the 1st base line.
3. Back-up 2nd on throws from left field to 2nd.
4. Be the infield cut-off or backup on balls to right field.
2nd Baseman
1. Cover 2nd on balls hit to left side of field
2. Cover 2nd on fly balls to left + left centerfield.
3. Cover 1st on short hits down the 1st base line.
4. Be the cut-off man on balls to right field.
Shortstop
1. Cover 2nd on grounder to right side of field.
2. Cover 2nd on fly balls to right + right centerfield.
2. Back-up 3rd on grounder to 3rd
3. Be the cut-off man on balls to left field.
3rd Baseman
1. Cover 3rd on plays to 3rd.
2. Back-up 2nd on throws from right and right centerfield.
3. Charge short hits down the 3rd base line.
4. Ask coach if to stay at 3rd on short hit if runner on 2nd.
Outfielders
1. Back-up other outfielders on every ball hit to outfield.
2. Back-up infielders on every play to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
3.Back-up infielders on every ball hit in the infield
4. Charge short fly balls + call off the infielder if you can make the catch.
5. Throw ahead of all runners.
6. Hit the cut-off man when necessary.
Pitcher
