LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER
Present assignment involves to check the workof Engineering Consultants for concept study/Basic /Detail engineering (DBM, PFD, P&ID, Calculation reports, Process Data Sheets, HMB, Line list, Equipment list, Tie in list, Operation & control philosophy, Radiation calculation, Dispersion calculation, Pumps. PSV’s etc ), PWI System, Gas lift, replacement of blow down pit with vent stack/flare system, installation of additional FWKO vessel/surge tank, Fuel storage facility, air compressor installation, potable water treatment system and well fluid metering system(gas eliminator/test separator).
PW System Modification with CPI
This project includes detail engineering for the addition of new facilities viz CPI’s, Skim Oil Pump, Skim Oil Sump, Floating Oil skimmer, Gravity flow lines to meet the specifications such as less than 50 ppm oil in PW and maximize oil recovery.
- Analysing the input documents, Scenario finalization, Checking adequacy for the worst credible scenario, CPI separator DS preparation, Calculation for Pumps, NPSH & Electric Heaters, data sheet preparation for Electric Heaters & Pumps, line designation table and line sizing calculations. Preparing Modification and Demolition P&ID’s. Process design basis, operating, control and safe guarding philosophies and Operating Manual.

PRODUCED WATER TREATMENT(M/s.Total) - HalulIsland
This project includes the addition of Water Flash Drum -3 Phase separator, Hydro-cyclone units, CFU units, neview of produced water injection pumps, relocation of existing pumps and modification of associated piping. The objectives of this project is to achieve the specification of oil-in water content < 40 ppm (Capacity of 50,000 BPD + 10% margin).
Nature of work: Analysing the input documents, Scenario finalization, Checking adequacy for the worst credible scenario, HMB Calculation, Simulation report, Relief Load Calculation and PSV sizing, three phase separator sizing, Pump sizing, data sheet preparation, line designation table and line sizing calculations. Preparing process package, Preparing Modification and Demo P&ID’s. Technical document preparation(TDR).
DESALTERS(M/s.Total) - HalulIsland
This project includes the addition of new facilities viz Desalters, Fresh water Package, Export Pumps, Recycle Pumps, STHE, Chemical Injection Skids and adequacy check of existing flaresystem to meet the oil specifications such as:
1) Salt content below 25 PTB.
2) BSW below 0.5%.
CRUDE OIL IMPORT & EXPORT FACILITY(QP) at HalulIsland Oil Terminal.
Detail engineering for replacement of four nos 4000 m3/hr crude oil pumps and associated import and export pipelines and utilities system to increase the reliability and to upgrade the system for enhanced operational flexibility.
PWI SYSTEM(QP)– Dukhan.
The detail engineering project objective concerns the addition of new Source water well pump(submersible) and associated facilities to utilize the produced water from Degassing Stations and water from the new source wells for injection, in order to ensure optimum utilization of booster pumps.
Fire Water Pond Modification
Detail engineering for repairing of fire water pond with usage of temporary pumps to supply fire water as of original capacity during the repair works.

ACHIEVEMENTS / : /
  • Design modification proposed and implemented to get free liquid flow a intermediate separator vessel in Urea plant on Froude No.
  • Recommendation given to change the number of passes to two from four on the tube side to increase the cooling water flow based on the adequacy of supply and return pipe size and implemented.
  • Separator was proposed at the reciprocating compressor suction to knock out water droplets to avoid frequent compressor valve failure.
  • Operating parameter change was proposed to avoid vapor lock and to get interrupted and continuous liquid urea flow.
  • Proposed to use liquid area melt in place of solid urea to improve NPK product quality, crushing strength.
  • Process modification was proposed and implemented to recover 4 to 5 M3/hr of 10 to 15 % Urea solution to consume in the process itself and to avoid consumption of same quality of dilution condensate. Thus sending it to surge Tank, recovery and evaporator loading is avoided.
  • Piping modification was proposed to get more cooling water flow across the condenser to enhance heat duty.
  • Urea heating coil was designed and installed to be obtaining liquid urea from solid Urea.
  • Investigated and found reason for failure of one of the exchangers out of two with similar application.
