Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Client Advocate Supervisor will create systems, supervise Client Advocates and position the program for ultimate impact. This person will bring innovation, systems thinking, and the ability to lead and build an effective team of Client Advocates. This person will also manage a small caseload. The individual will use a person-centered approach to assess the needs of individuals. This person has the responsibility for managing a wide range of active cases, including creative planning in seeking and acquiring services for supported individuals. The intent of client advocate services is to ensure individuals continue to live independently and thrive. The Client Advocate Supervisor will also coordinate with county staff and representatives of Hennepin and Ramsey County’s Long-Term Homeless programs to ensure proper communication amongst agencies. He/she will also ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations and policies for licensing requirement.

Education/Experience:

  • BA Degree in Social Work, Psychology or similar field
  • Obtained LSW or MSW Licensure (Dual Licensure for Mental Health and Chemical Health Preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience working with the homeless population
  • 2+ Years of supervisory experience

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass Department of Human Services Background Study
  • Free of chemical use problems for at least two years.
  • Ability to structure time well and develop priorities.
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple problems.
  • Self-confident, creative, and able to exercise individual discretion or judgment.
  • Able to devote the time and energy required ensuring sessions are complete, positive and reinforcing the clients, support agencies and the community.
  • Possess a high level of crisis tolerance, and the ability to work through crisis situations in a professional, therapeutic and positive manner.
