Ken Goldmanis an internationally known artist, author, teacher and juror. A recipient of numerous awards, he has exhibited widely in various group shows and solo exhibitions around the world, most recently in the International Fabriano en Aquarello 2015, in Italy. He is a signature member of the National and American Watercolor Societies as well as the San Diego Watercolor Society, and is the current President of the National Watercolor Society. His work has been featured in magazines such as International Artist, The Artist’s Magazine and Watercolor Magic, as well as in the Splash series of books volumes 12 and 13. In this workshop Ken will guide students through a new and innovative approach to designing watercolors using an iPad. He will introduce you to a wonderfully creative app called ArtStudio. With this program you can either work from photos stored in your photo roll, or create thumbnail studies with paints, photograph them and then take it further in the ArtStudio program. Ken will help you translate the iPad ideas you’ve come up with into a watercolor while still using the app as a way to try out and visualize various “what if” painting solutions before actually making changes and possibly ruining an original. However you go about using this program, you will be amazed at all the creative directions that are possible!
