Designing a Web Page through Weebly.com
Due: Friday, March 22, 2013 by 11:59PM
Mission: Contribute to our digital graphic novel by designing an interactive multi-media page for your passage.
Required Elements for Web Page
1. Title for your page
2. Caption for your page: What is going on in your assigned passage? Who is in your assigned passage?
3. Statement analyzing author's theme: What is a topic you see in your passage? What is Golding saying about this topic?
4. Music Video/YouTube Video: Think about the topic your group decided to focus on for the passage. What are some songs/videos that discuss this topic? Include the lyrics to the song if you choose a music video.
Note: you may choose a youtube video that is just a song; it does not have to have a produced music video to go along with it.
Note II: Keep it school-friendly.
5. Famous Quote: Google famous quotes regarding your topic. Choose one you think suits the general message Golding is sending through your passage.
6. Wordle: Choose important words seen in your passage. Put them in a wordle.net text rendering.
7. Text Rendering: choose one word, one phrase, and one sentence that stands out to you in the passage or best represents the passage.
8. Definition of topic word: you may get this from any print or online dictionary
9. Three pictures: one piece of art (painting, drawing, etc); one photograph; one meme. Write a brief description and cite your source for each.

Assigned Passage
Ralph sat down in the grass facing the chief's seat and the conch. Piggy knelt at his left, and for a long minute there was silence.
At last Ralph cleared his throat and whispered something.
Piggy whispered back.
“What you say?”
Ralph spoke up.
“Simon.”
Piggy said nothing but nodded, solemnly. They continued to sit, gazed with impaired sight at the chief's seat and the glittering lagoon. The green light and the glossy patches of sunshine played over their befouled bodies.
At length Ralph got up and went to the conch. He took the shell caressingly with both hands and knelt, leaning against the trunk.
“Piggy.”
“Uh?”
“What we going to do?”
...
“It was an accident,” said Piggy suddenly, “that's what it was. An accident.” His voice shrilled again. “Coming in the dark—he hadn't no business crawling like that out of the dark. He was batty. He asked for it.” He gesticulated widely again. “It was an accident.”
“You didn't see what they did--”
“Look, Ralph. We got to forget this. We can't do no good thinking about it, see?”
“I'm frightened. Of us. I want to go home. Oh God, I want to go home.”
“It was an accident,” said Piggy stubbornly, “and that's that.”
He touched Ralph's bare shoulder and Ralph shuddered at the human contact.” (155-157)
