Fireworks Banner/Logo
Skills and applications task Weighting 10%
Students are required to collect and manipulate images for the banner we are incorporating into a website.
This will be preceded by formative tasks where students are introduced to the Adobe Fireworks software and given formative tasks to learn the essentials of the program. Students will also be given formative direction in design essentials.
Students will also hand in a 200 word report on the design & creation process.
All work must be saved in digital format in their Design & Tech S1 Folder. This folder will later be copied into the Student Public Drive for the teacher to review. The copied folder must be named “Student Name D&T App Task”
The folder should already contain the student’s Flash file and exported .swf file.
In Fireworks the saved work will be in .png format.
The final stage will be combining the Flash banner with the images created for it in Fireworks.
This final file will be saved in .fla format and exported as a .swf
TASK:
Your task is to create an animated banner or logo to incorporate into a website.
The Banner must be for “Centralian Senior College” and must be made to fit the dimensions of the current banner shown below.
The website can be viewed at http://www.centraliansc.nt.edu.au/
The Banner will later also incorporate photos or graphics in the background.

You may choose to incorporate the logo (below) in your banner.
Students need to demonstrate their understanding of the design features of effective and integrated banner design by including a report detailing the decision making process used in the banner/logo choice.
Report is a maximum of 200 words.
Please collect a digital version of this task sheet from our website so you can easily use the banner and logo elements as templates.
There is a library of photos in the Student Public Drive you can use. No individual or private group photos allowed without express permission of the subject/s.
