4.2.1How to input values in the Design Sheet

  1. Calculations in the design sheet are column wise and each column represents a part of the industrial ventilation system like duct, collector etc

2. Rows 1,2,3,5,10,11,13,14,17,18,21,23,26,27,29,30,32,36,37,38,42 are input rows and

if no input is to be entered in a particular cell, enter zero. No cell must be left without any

value.

  1. The rest of the rows are calculated rows and the formulae are displayed in the text box at the top of the design sheet for each calculated cell. All the Formulae fields are colored Yellow.

4. For Row 2 that is the input row for volumetric flowrate after column 3 with each mouse

click a combo box is seen with two options as “input” and “formula”. Selection of “input” allows the user to enter a numeric value. In case there is a correction at a junction point in the ventilation system select “formula” and the next two mouse clicks must be on the cells whose values must be added to get the flowrate.

  1. The first click changes the color of the cell to black , the next two mouse clicks changes the color of the cells to red. The third click must be on the black colored cell to get the sum of the two values. There is an option to deselect the cells that are chosen to add up (red colored cells) one more click on the red color cell displays a message box “ Do You Want to Deselect”. Press Yes to deselect or No to quit the message box.
  2. For Rows 3 and 5. If ‘velocity’ is the known input, enter it in the third row, the diameter is calculated based on the input velocity. If velocity is not known and diameter is the known input, enter it in the fifth row, velocity is calculated based on input diameter.
  3. Input for rows 14,18 and 29 must be either 0 or 1. In case a different a value is entered an error message box “ Enter Value 0 or 1 “ is displayed.
  4. For Row 39 a message box pops up requesting if the correction is needed for that column

(duct). On pressing “yes” rows 39, 40, 41 are calculated automatically. If no zeros

are displayed in these rows for that particular column.

This is the design sheet window that is displayed after filling out the plant details.
