Desert Mashie Golf Foundation

The Desert Mashie Golf Foundation rating guide must be utilized when evaluating Desert Mashie candidates. This rating system is developed in an effort to ensure a fair and consistent method of selecting all Desert Mashie scholarship recipients.
Please be advised that only fully completed Desert Mashie Scholarship applications, which have been approved by the Board of Directors, are eligible for consideration under this rating system.
The following five (6) factors will be considered in the rating process:

- EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVIES. (20 points maximum) This factor focuses on a student’s involvement with sports (including Jr. Golf), art, organizations, clubs (including officer positions held), music, etc.
- ESSAY. (20 points maximum) This factor is based upon overall quality of the student’s written or typed essay of approximately 500 words. Consideration should be given to grammar, content, goals/objectives, etc.
- FINANCIAL NEED ASSESSMENT. (10 points maximum) This factor would normally be the same for all candidates, unless specific information is provided which reveals some type of financial hardship in the student’s family situation. Is the applicant receiving any other scholarship(s)? If yes, where and the amount.
