Description of Entry: (Full written description please)
There will only be one Santa and he will be with the Rotary Club.
LINE UP: Beginning at White County High School at 2 pm
FLOATS: Floats must be lined up by 3:00 pm to be eligible and will be judged on Theme, Creativity and Appearance. Floats and trailers must have reflectors on rear of trailer/float for good visibility. If you are leaving your vehicle at the school, please park in the upper parking lot off Robert Knight Drive.
PRIZES: 1st Place $300, 2nd Place, $200, and 3rd Place $100
TREATS: Police Chief Jeff Guth has given special permission to gently toss treats if you wish, so not to hurt any innocent bystanders.
HORSES: Horses will group at the north end of Allen Dr. on Roosevelt Drive to join lineup after Santa’s float. If possible, horse trailers can be staged on the east side of town to alleviate the need for horse riders to travel back across town after dark. If you MUST ride the horses back across town, please take every precaution and have reflectors on animal and clothing to avoid any potential problems.
FIRE TRUCKS: Fire trucks will group in the old Food Lion parking lot. Please use caution when using your sirens – sirens are loud, and may drown out the groups in front of you.
TRACTORS: Tractors may lineup in front of the Vocational School parking area.
MOTORCYCLES: Clubs may enter as a group only. NO 4-WHEELERS, GO-CARTS, DIRT BIKES, DRAGSTERS, or SKATE BOARDS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PARADE
ROUTE: ROUTE MAY VARY THIS YEAR DUE TO CONSTUCTION ON BOCKMAN WAY. Typical Route: Allen Drive, turn right on Polk, left on Hampton, left on Bockman Way, right onto Liberty Square at Courthouse, left on Maple Street. Try to stay close to entry in front of you.
DISASSEMBLE: Please, Do not stop on the Square.
If your unit will be stopping to let children or other people off, proceed to the end of Maple Street to park and let your passengers off to walk back to the Square. Otherwise you should turn down South Young Street and go back to the High School by way of Hwy 111. You can park on the street until the activity on the Square is over. If you are picking up children you may park in the Citizens Bank Parking lot, First Christian Church parking lot, and either of the City parking lots and walk to their unit on Maple Street.
