Salary based upon experience
Develop and plan programs, activities and Christian study for children ages 2-11 (Pre K-5th grade) & coordinating youth discipleship and ministry for youth ages 12-19.
Basic Qualifications: Undergraduate degree with certificate or training in Christian Education, Child Development, Youth Ministry, or Spiritual Formation preferred.
Experience: Prior church experience and first-hand knowledge of child development, small group leadership, or teaching a plus. Interest or knowledge in small groups, Methodism, and confirmation curriculum is beneficial.

-Patient understanding for teaching, training and mentoring others.
-Responsible, ethical individual with strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
-Creativity and flexibility in planning and organization.
-Ability to delegate responsibility and solid follow-up to complete and review tasks.
General Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for developing & maintaining a solid spiritual life program for children and youth.
*Most importantly, love people for who they are, where they are, and help them never forget that God is always with them. Love the children and youth like Jesus loves you.
Define, plan, and direct ministry with children and youth including the following:
-Be attentive to hopes, needs, and concerns of the children/youth in our community and how the congregation might serve them and their families.
-Develop/train a network of lay servants, parents, and teachers to work with you.
-Collaborate with church leaders and teachers to ensure ample programs and teachers for children/youth.
-Evaluate use of child-friendly worship materials and arrange nursery servants for Sundays.
-Organize and assist Community Outreach Children's Events (such as Movie Nights, Easter,Trunk or Treat, Vacation Bible School, or Christmas).
-Oversee weekly youth ministry program for formation and fellowship.
-Coordinate mission experiences for all ages including mission trips.
-Offer/Plan spiritual retreats for youth and for children & families.
-Ensure Safe Sanctuary policies are followed and understood.
-Create monthly calendars, inserts, web posts, and newsletter articles to effectively communicate with parents and church members.
-Collaborate with Pastor for Confirmation classes and overall discipleship formation.
-Assume leadership in selection/ordering of curriculum materials.
-Empower and assist in incorporating children and youth into the leadership and life of the church.
-Attend staff meetings when possible.
-Meet with Staff-Parish Relations Committee at least annually for evaluation and report.
