Describing a Person Using “Who”

USING AN ADJECTIVE (e.g. “shy”):

1.  I am a person.

2.  I am shy.

1. + 2. = I am a person who is shy.

Combine the two sentences to form an adjective clause that describes me:

I am a person + who is shy (3rd person). = I am a person who is shy.

(Main clause) + (dependent clause)

Using an adjective (e.g. “beautiful”):

1.  Mary is a woman.

2.  Mary isn’t beautiful.
