1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

This post will assist the team in driving excellent business relationships for the ESiF Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) contract across Dorset. The postholder will be responsible for engaging with employers, and relevant employer sector groups, to understand and identify innovative solutions to their business training needs and employee skills development.

To maintain a strong pipeline of employer Training Needs Analysis appointments, that will lead to the sign up of specific employees onto SSW training and progression opportunities.

To work with the ESiF team to fulfil Weymouth College’s contractual requirements of the SSW project through the maintenance and development of strong internal and external relationships.

To maintain professional attitude, deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate commitment to achieving contract targets.

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a)  Provide a professional and positive service to employers and employer groups to secure their confidence and commitment to working with Weymouth College and receiving support from the Skills Support for the Workforce programme.

b)  Generate new business leads with employers in the relevant sectors through a range of appropriate mediums including cold calling, conducting face-to-face business meetings and delivering presentations at networking events.

c)  Make appointments, with employers in the relevant sectors, for Employer Training Consultants that will lead to the successful completion of Training Needs Analysis and engagement of employees on elements of the Skills Support for the Workforce training programme.

d)  Focus on meeting employers’ business needs and sell the benefits of supporting individual employees to develop higher level skills and/or progression within the workplace, to Apprenticeship or to other forms of learning.

e)  Complete employer eligibility checks prior to confirmation of appointment with Employer Training Consultants.

f)  Explain how the project is funded and the importance of utilising the EU funds whilst they remain available to Dorset.

g)  To be responsive to business requirements and clearly communicate employer opportunities and training needs to the SSW team and Apprenticeships Manager, as appropriate, to ensure that employers with skills needs have access to the relevant sector training specialist and/or appropriate training package.

h)  Maintain all employer and individual participant hard copy files so that they are compliant with ESiF Funding Guidance, up to date and secure in accordance with College data security procedures.

i)  Keep all employer electronic records and CRM details up to date to ensure that progress on employer participation in the project can be monitored and evaluated.

j)  Keep up to date on contract changes and developments within the local labour market, including the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) skills priorities, informing and providing contract management and delivery staff with relevant market intelligence.

k)  Meet and exceed agreed targets set by line manager to fulfil the SSW ESiF contract.

l)  Liaise with the Head of External Partnerships to contribute to business networking meeting and events as appropriate.

m)  Actively contribute to the management of own learning and development and identify any training and development requests with line manager.

n)  Attend team meetings, share good practice and contribute to the development of working procedures to ensure that processes are as streamlined as possible.

o)  Plan and prioritise own work.

p)  Participate in promotional events and activities.
