3. Student Teaching Withdrawal Policy
- Currently there is no policy at the college level for withdrawing from student teaching.
- The only policy is one where the faculty remove the student for non-performance. We need to create a policy of how we are going to handle students who want to drop on their own decision.
- If a student withdraws themselves, we need to define what the expectations would be.
- edTPA may add to the numbers who want to withdraw as they start filling out the documents for edTPA and deal with the cost of edTPA.
- Once a student has been placed, faculty can listen but if not university supervisor cannot recommend withdrawal. They should be referred back to the appropriate people.
- Nomsa and Rowand will refine and distribute it. Faculty will review and vote on at the next meeting.
4. Schedule Spring 15
- Changes have already been made
- Shannon make sure all courses are in for grad students or double booked courses
- Minors – make sure the times are not conflicting – as much as possible.
