Dear Industry Colleague:

We invite your company to participate in the 2002 Canadian Acoustical Association Conference to be held at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel, in Charlottetown, PEI, October 9-11. The conference program is of a high quality and represents the many areas of acoustics. Over 100 papers have been accepted for presentation at the meeting. It is the largest CAA programme to date.

The theme of the 2002 CAA PEI conference is “Acoustics: Bridge to the Future”. This theme emphasizes the role of linkages between various people and fields engaged in acoustics Such progress in acoustics relies in many ways on knowledge and use of acoustical instrumentation and the manufacture of acoustical products. Your company can play an important role in this regard. Please join us in PEI this October at the CAA Annual Meeting that will bring together people from across Canada and beyond who are committed in a variety of ways to progress in the fields of acoustics. Your presence at the meeting will enable attendees to learn first hand about your company and its products.

As a participant in the two-day Exhibit, your organization will receive enhanced recognition and exposure on the official conference website and acknowledgement in the conference Proceedings. There are also several other or ways in which your organization can support the meeting as described below.

GENERAL EXHIBITOR INFORMATION

A permanent exhibition showcasing the latest technology in acoustics and vibration equipment, instrumentation, materials and software will run on Wednesday (Oct. 9) and Thursday (Oct. 10) of the Conference.

Exhibitors will reach all attendees of the conference and will be listed on the Conference web-site. Cost for one exhibition space is $450 for early CAA member registrants and includes full conference registration (meals and entertainment) as well for one person. Standard furnishings for booths can be obtained through Global Convention Services who routinely work with exhibits at the Delta Hotel. Cost of a table for 2 days is $29.00 (total for 2 days), for an electric outlet is $45.00 (total), chair ($10 total). Additional items may also be rented if required. Stephen Gallant of Global Convention Services will be contacting exhibitor registrants, however, exhibitors may also contact him directly at (902) 368-8090.

The conference organizers will make every effort to provide as much exposure of the exhibits to conference delegates. At one plenary session of the meeting there will be an opportunity for each exhibitor to briefly introduce himself or herself and his or her product to the delegates. The exhibits will be set up in a foyer outside the conference presentation rooms, and traffic will necessarily circulate among the exhibits as a result.

Should there be any persons in the Maritimes that you would like to invite to the exhibit, please contact Annabel Cohen, so that this might be arranged.

3.  DISPLAY TABLES

In the event that your company does not wish to mount a full exhibit, there will be an opportunity to display written materials representing your company on a shared information table. In this case you could still register as an Exhibitor. The meeting would offer your company exposure on the CAA-web-site and acknowledgement in the CAA Conference Proceedings. Voluntary contributions would be welcome but are not mandatory, as the purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum for exchange of information relevant to acoustics and the meeting aims to encourage all related enterprise.
