Re: Submission of Implementation Plans for Medical Services Approval

Effective Date: Upon Receipt

The transition from RTSS to RSP (Remedial Services) has been moving along swiftly. Many children have completed the assessment process and their Implementation Plans have been submitted to IME Medical Services for approval. Medical Services staff is working diligently to approve those plans as quickly as possible. However, there are thousands that still need to be submitted.

The IME is urging you to submit all implementation plans for children who have completed orders from an LPHA as soon as possible, and to submit plans for any new orders as soon as you receive them. Quick submission of the Implementation Plan will facilitate the approval process, therefore allowing the child to begin receiving RSP services from you as quickly as possible. Even though DHS has moved back the end date of the RTSS program, the intention of the new program is to have as many children as possible served under the RSP program by January 2007.

The provider community has voiced some concerns regarding the completion of the Implementation Plan and the approval process. IME Medical Services staff suggests that you submit several plans for approval so that staff can respond with feedback as to whether you are on the right track with your plans. This process will help put to rest your concerns about how to complete additional plans in the future.

IME Medical Services has created two tools to assist you with the transition to the RSP program. The Helpful Hints and Contact Numbers for RSP Services forms are both enclosed with this mailing.

If you have not yet applied to become a Remedial Services provider with the IME, you are urged to apply as quickly as possible. Questions about your application can be emailed to .
