How much is the bursary worth?
The bursary will cover the full Postgraduate tuition fee costs of those eligible applicants who successfully pass the application review process.
Will everyone who applies receive the bursary?
The bursary that has been given to the University by the DCMS is limited. Not all those who apply, even if eligible will be successful and receive funds to cover their tuition fee costs.
How do I apply?
You will be sent an email containing a link to an online application form once you have been offered a place on the course. The email will be sent to the email address listed on your course application to the University.
How will I know if I’m successful?
Once the closing date has passed, a panel made up of a representative from the Student Money Team, Head of Cyber and Course Leader for Computer Forensics will review the applications and we aim to notify all applicants by email on the outcome within 10 days.
What is the Criminal Conviction Certificate and do I submit it with the application?
As part of the application process the DCMS require you to undergo an up to date basic check (Criminal Conviction Certificate). Those candidates who are notified that their application was successful will then be required to provide a copy of the certificate prior to the bursary award being agreed. These are currently available from Disclosure Scotland
It is considered that any prospective recipients with unspent convictions relating to cyber security or fraud related offences would not be eligible for the bursary.
How will I receive the bursary?
This bursary, which only covers tuition fee costs, will be paid directly to the Revenue department at the University.
Can I appeal against any decisions regarding my eligibility?
The bursary is a limited fund and as such we cannot guarantee that all eligible applicants will be successful. All decisions made by the panel are final.
