Note:

i)  We will not postpone a session if it is not ready on the scheduled date. In that case, all your efforts to prepare the session will be waste. If any topic is not ready for presentation on the due date, it will be clearly mentioned in the logbook of the PGs.

ii)  If a particular session is postponed due to some other program in the department without any fault of the PGs, the PG may be told to present the session on any day after the due date. If the PG fails to do so, it will be considered that the PG was not ready on the given day and the same will be mentioned in the logbook of the PGs.

iii)  Please note that all the drafts should be shown to the moderator faculty before the due date given here.

iv)  If you are presenting a seminar, you are supposed to be the expert in the topic on that. So, go for in-depth study on the topic. Consult the reference books. Think of every minor to major questions that can be asked on the topic and prepare yourself for the same. You should consult your moderator at least 3 times; first, to ask from where to study on the topic; second, to show the draft presentation at least two weeks before the scheduled date and ask for his/her suggestions for improvement; third, show him/her your final presentation including the changes s/he has suggested at least one week prior to the presentation. You may need to meet the moderator more often if there is a need.

v)  Maintain the system of presentation of short topics during the journal clubs. This would be the responsibility of the presenter of the journal club. Please get the short topics decided at least 4-5 days in advance before the presentation so that others get enough time for preparing their topic.

vi)  The number of slides should be restricted to 10 for a Journal Club and 20 for a Seminar and 5 for short topics.

vii)  Please come with a notebook and a calculator for Epidemiology and Biostatistics session. Please also bring a laptop (if you have) for a group of 3 PGs.

viii)  Exposure visits will only be done on demand from the PGs. For this, they should meet Dr. Subodh after making consensus among themselves

(Subodh S Gupta)
