Subject :Writ Petition (Civil) No. 213 of 211 field by Democratic Youth Federation of India Vs. Union of India and others in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India-regarding ad-interim order dated 13.05.2011 for ban on production, use and sale of Endosulfan.

Sir,

Please refer to this office letter of even number dated 18th May, 2001 on the subject mentioned above to which forwarding there with a copy of ad-intrim order dated 13th May, 2011 inter alia immediately banning the production, use and sale of Endosulfan all over India, passed by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the aforesaid Writ Petition for immediate compliance in toto

In view of the above DAC has directed that all the pesticides Association in the country may use their good office in directing all registrants of Endosulfan U/s 9(3), 9(4) and 9(3) Export to surrender their Certificates of Registration to the Secretary (CIB&RC), Secretariat of Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIB&RC), Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (PPQ&S), N.H. IV, Faridabad – 121 001 (Haryana) Immediately without further delay.

But till date none of the registrant of Endosulfan has surrendered their certificate of registration to the Secretary CIB&RC.

Competent authority in DAC, therefore, decided that the Certificate of Registration issued to the all registrants in respect of Endosulfan u/s 9(3), 9(4) & 9(3) Exportare deemed to have been treated as withdrawn with effectof the interim order issue of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India till further order.

It is informed that with the with drawing of Certificate of Registration from all registrants of Endosulfan, the licenses issued by the respective State Governments for the production, use and sale of Endosulfan will become null and void.
