Reduced activity period / The Department will notify a Christmas/New Year shut down period. Some specified personnel may be required to work during this period however prior approval will be required from their DIBP contract manager.
Business Hours / Specified Personnel service arrangements are 40 hours per week. If it is necessary to exceed the 40 hours in any given week, written approval must be obtained prior to the work being undertaken.
Specified Personnel are required to complete DIBP ICT Contractor SAP Timesheet which must be submitted prior to close of business at the end of each week or as directed.
Services/work required / The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) requires the services of experiencedPega Application Engineers.
The services will include and not be limited to:
  • Designing applications using Pega 7 by participating in and leading workshops during project inception and elaboration;
  • Configuring and developing applications using Pega 7 including support for UAT and functional testing;
  • Deploying and supporting production applications in Pega 7; and
  • Provide training to DIBP staff.

Methodology / Specified personnel will need to adhere to DIBP’s frameworks and work standards as well as Agile Development – Pega Smart BPM.
Monitoring & Measuring Performance / Specified Personnel’s performance will be monitored during the term of the contract. Regular formal feedback will be sought from key stakeholders within the Department. It is expected that deliverables will be met in accordance with release timeframes and of a high quality with minimal corrections.
Documentation / Specified Personnel is required to deliver the following documentation in conjunction with Department’s framework and work standards:
  • Solution Outline;
  • Pega Specification;
  • Pega Implementation;
  • Pega Flows;
  • Pega Class Model;
  • Pega Connector Configuration;
  • Pega Application Profile;
  • Security Architecture Documentation.

Skills knowledge transfer / Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to DIBP staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with DIBP’s recordkeeping policy and practices.
Selection criteria

Criteria do not need to be addressed separately, if clearly demonstrated in CV. / Mandatory/Essential Criteria:
  • Demonstrated minimum 12 months Pega 7 experience with:
-Designing applications;
-Configuring and developing applications, including support for UAT and functional testing;
-Deploying and supporting production applications;
  • Participatedand led workshops during project inception and elaboration;
  • Previous involvement experience in Agile delivery of one or more Pega projects;
  • Exposure to a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to:
-WebSphere;
-WebSphere MQ;
-ETL;
-Oracle;
-DB2;
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal English communication skills;
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-starter and ability to operate with minimal supervision;
  • HasPegasystems Certification at or above “Senior System Architect” level;
  • Specified Personnel must hold a current security clearance (baseline clearance as a minimum); and
  • Specified Personnel must be willing to undergo and obtain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC);

Intellectual Property Rights – ownership of Contract Material / The Department owns the Intellectual Property Rights in Contract Material.
Security requirements: Security Clearance and Employment Suitability Screening / DIBP expects the Specified Personnel to adhere to current departmental security instructions.
Security Clearance:-
DIBP requires all specified personnel to have a minimum BASELINE security clearance prior to commencement unless otherwise specified.
Note: The Contractor will be required to meet the cost of any security clearances that are required.
Employment Suitability Screening:-
DIBP requires all specified personnel to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance.

  • Interstate specified personnel may be required to travel to Canberra for an interview. Phone interviews may not be considered.
