Summary/General Description Of Job:

Chugach seeks an experienced Accounting & HR Administrator to deliver payroll, benefits, employee relations programs and client services in an accurate and timely manner for a rapidly growing commercial entity. The Accounting & HR Administrator is responsible for processing all payroll, timesheets, and human resources information including recordkeeping, reporting, as well as employee relations matters.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for company personnel; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Administers compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program.
  • Acts as benefits liaison, communicating relevant benefit information as needed.
  • Conducts recruitment efforts, ensuring hiring processes are consistent and comply with legal requirements; conducts new-employee orientations, ensuring all paperwork is completed and filed accurately and timely.
  • Compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, etc.
  • Serves as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting policies, and resolving work-related problems.
  • Maintains personnel files and other HR records in accordance with corporate policies and applicable regulations.
  • Participates in employee relations matters, which may include preparation of disciplinary documents and investigates complaints, as required.
  • Processes payroll from start to finish including any required adjustments or deductions, and maintains payroll information as required.
  • Compiles payroll data such as garnishments, PTO accruals, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
  • Collects and reviews employee timesheets (both hard copy and electronic), reviewing information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepares required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Assists in the developing recommendations for improvement of the organization’s personnel policies and practices.
  • Assists in other daily projects as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

Mandatory

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Six (6) – eight (8) years of progressively responsible accounting and HR experience, with two (2) years of payroll experience, and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Intermediate or higher skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Current valid state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred

  • Professional certification as a HR Professional (PHR).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Prior Lawson experience.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry.
