DENABY UNITED 6 ASIDE COMPETITION RULES

CAPTAINS ROLE

As the team captain you are agreeing to the Playing Rules and terms & Conditions of Business for the Denaby United FC Community 6 a side Competition as set out below. It is the responsibility of the captain to be the primary contact for the team and it’s players. By allowing a player to take part in a club’s match you are confirming that individual players are aware of and will abide by the competition rules.

SANCTION & AFFILIATION

1. NAME & DURATION OF COMPETITION

1.1 The competition shall be called the Denaby United FC 6 a side Community Cup.

1.2 The Competition shall run on Saturday 12th July 2014

2. ORGANISING &SANCTIONING

2.1 The competition organisers are Denaby United FC

2.2 The competition shall be governed in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Football association and the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA.

2.3 Matches shall be played in accordance with the Laws of Small Sided Football as laid down by The Football Association.

2.4 The competition shall be sanctioned by the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA.

2.5 The competition, all clubs, players and other associated persons shall be subject to the Rules & Regulations of The FA and Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA.

2.6 Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA shall deal with any breaches in accordance with the of the Laws of the Game/Laws of Small Sided football and the Rules & Regulations of the FA

2.7 The organiser may amend these rules at any time.

2.8 A person who is not a referee (as recognised by the Football Association) may carry out the duties of a Match Official in a specific match were no qualified referee can be found.

3. PLAYER REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY

3.1 All clubs shall be given a team registration form prior to their first game which must be signed by the whole squad.

3.2 The captain must ensure that all players have completed this form and handed it to the competition organiser BEFORE their first game.

3.3 Players may only be registered with one club.

LEAGUE STRUCTURE & KNOCKOUT

4. FORMAT

LEAGUE

4.1 The competition shall be played on a league basis consisting of four divisions each containing five teams.

4.2 Teams shall play each other once, three points will be awarded for a win and one point for a draw. If points are equal at the end of the league competition then goals scored will determine final positions, in the event of points and goals scored being equal then goals against will be considered.

4.3 At the end of the league stage the team finishing bottom will take no further part in the competition.

KNOCKOUT

4.4 The teams finishing in first and second positions will be proceed to the Cup Knockout Competition with the teams in third and fourth position being placed in the Shield Knockout Competition.

4.5 If any of the knockout games end level after the normal playing period of 15 minutes then penalties will be taken to determine the winners.

4.6 Each team will nominate 3 penalty takers, if the scores are still level after 3 penalties then the remaining team members must take a penalty and sudden death will apply.

It is the duty of team captains to record the score of each game their team plays on the form provided with the names of goal scorers. This form should then be handed to the stats table immediately after each game.

5. ABSENT TEAMS & UNFULFILLED FIXTURES

5.1 If a team is absent from a fixture without giving proper notice the opposition will be awarded the game with a 3-0 win.

5.2 Where a team is absent for 2 fixtures during the competition, they will be deemed as absent and the team will be removed from the competition and all their results will be void.

5.3 If a team has no opposition as they are absent, to claim the points they must be available to play at the time of official kick off. If this is not the case then they shall also be deemed as absent.

3.4 If a team is more than 5 minutes late or do not have enough players that are eligible to play to begin the game then they are deemed to be absent.

6. ABANDONED GAMES

6.1 In all cases where the organiser is satisfied that a game has been abandoned through the fault of one of the teams then then match will be awarded to the opponents.

6.2 A maximum of 3 points may be deducted from the total gained by any team found responsible for causing the match to be abandoned as a result of the conduct of it’s players and /or officials.

6.3 In the vent of a game being abandoned through extreme cause which is beyond the control of either team then one point will be awarded to each team however where it is considered the outcome would be fairer, the organisers may order the score at the time of abandonment to be recorded as the result.

7. NUMBER OF PLAYERS

7.1 The number of players is limited to 6a side with a further 2 players as substitutes.

7.2 All players must be registered to your team before the competition commences.

7.3 If a team is reduced by 2 players or more through absence, injury or suspension then the game shall be abandoned and awarded to the opposition. In other words a team can play with 4 players but no less.

PLAYING RULES

8. DURATION

8.1 All matches shall consist of 2 halves of 7 and a ½ minutes each.

8.2 The half time interval shall be a maximum duration of 1 minute though any half time interval may be dispensed with at the organisers discretion.

9. START OF PLAY and BREAKS IN PLAY

THERE IS NO HEAD HEIGHT RULE APART FROM THROW IN’S

9.1 At the beginning of play the choice of ends is determined by the Referee.

9.2 If the ball crosses the side line a throw in is awarded.

9.3 To return the ball into play at a throw in the player must deliver the ball underarm and und knee height. The ball must travel in a horizontal or downwards direction.

9.4 A foul throw shall be called if the ball travels above knee height or is not underarm

9.5 If the ball crosses the goal line when last played by a defending team where it is not a goal then a corner kick shall be awarded. If the ball is last played by the attacking team then a goal kick will be awarded.

9.6All opposition players must be at least 1 metre from a throw in or corner kick.

9.7 There is no offside, players may place themselves in any part of the playing area without restriction (except under rules 7.6 & 7.8), including the goal areas.

9.8 When a player is taking a free kick all opposition players shall be a minimum of TWO METRES from the ball until it is in play.

9.9 All free kicks that happen around the goal area must be a minimum distance of 1 metre from the goal area.

9.10 A penalty kick shall be taken from the penalty mark or from the edge of the area directly in line with the centre of the goal.

9.11 A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw in.

9.12 There is no restriction on players entering the goal areas.

10. THE GOAL KEEPER

10.1 The goal keeper is allowed out of his goal area, once he has crossed into the outfield he is then treated as a normal player.

10.2 The goal keeper cannot take the ball back into the goal area from the outfield in order to take possession with his hands.

10.3 There is no restriction on the goal keeper using his feet in the goal area during active play, this includes returning the ball to play using a kick.

10.4 If the goalkeeper chooses to return the ball using a throw it must be underarm and below knee height in a horizontal or downward direction.

10.5For a goal kick the goal keeper must return the ball into play using a kick from anywhere on the goal line, they must not return the ball using a throw.

10.6 Normal back pass rule applies in that the Goal keeper cannot touch or control the ball with his hands in the goal area if the ball has been purposely played to him by a team mate.

10.7 The penalty for infringement of the rules above is a free kick to the opposition 1 metre from the goal area at a position closest to the place of the infringement.

11. PLAYERS EQUIPMENT

11.1 All players must wear shin guards, this is COMPULSORY and failure to do so will result in a player being excluded from play.

11.2 Permitted footwear is trainers or football boots with non-metal blades or studs. Failure to wear the appropriate footwear may result in a player being excluded from play at the discretion of the referee.

12. SUBSTITUTES

12.1 Two substitutes per team shall be permitted during a game.

12.2 The rules of the competition allow unlimited rolling substitutions

12.3 The conditions for making a substitution are: The referee must be informed before the substitution is made. The player leaving the field shall do so from their own goal line, the player entering the field must do so from their own goal line but not until the player being replaced has left the field.

12.4 Any player may replace the goal keeper provided that the referee is informed of the change and it is done during a stoppage in play

DISCIPLINARY

13. MISCONDUCT

13.1 This competition operates under Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA’s strict guidelines with regard to discipline and misconduct. THE COUNTY FA WILL BE INFORMED OF ANY CAUTIONS ISSUED DURING THE COMPETITION.

13.2 The organisers reserve the right to prohibit any player or club from taking any further part in the competition.

13.3 During a game the referee may award a yellow or red card depending on the severity of misconduct.

14 YELLOW CARDS

14.1 If a YELLOW card is awarded the player receiving it shall be temporarily suspended from play.

14.2 during the suspension a player must stay off the field behind his own goal, this shall be deemed as the ‘the sin bin’

14.3 The referee shall inform the player when the suspension is over.

14.4 The period of suspension shall be 4 minutes.

14.5 If a player receives 2 YELLOW CARDS in the same game he shall not take any further part in that game.

15. RED CARDS

15.1 If a red card is awarded the offending player shall not be allowed to take any further part in that game and will also be suspended for the following game.

MISCONDUCT RED CARDS

Receiving a 2nd yellow card

1 match ban

Denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity by physical means or by deliberately handling the ball.

1 match ban

Use of offensive or insulting or abusive language/gestures

1 match ban

15.2 Players & Officials are reminded that the Rules and Regulations of The FA and the sanctioning County FA allow for fines to be imposed as aresult of misconduct.

15.3 Players should refer to the rules of the FA for a full explanation of all playing rules.

16. SLIDING TACKLES

16.1 Please note that charging/sliding tackles are forbidden and shall be penalised by the awarding of a free kick.

16.2 Persistent charging/sliding shall result in a yellow card.

17 RIGHT OF APPEAL

17.1 Any appeal against a decision of the organisers must be made to the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA with the appropriate rules of the Association. An appeal fee may apply.

CODE OF CONDUCT & RESPECT

18. RESPECT

18.1 Respect is the FA’s response to a clear message from throughout the game that the health of football depends upon high standards of behaviour on and off the field.

● Respect is about recognising that the integrity of the game is more important than theResult of the game

● Respect is about creating an understanding of what is acceptable and unacceptablebehaviour in football

● Respect is about those involved taking responsibility for the consequences of their ownActions

● Respect is about supporting match officials to do their job, without them we don’t have a game

● Respect is not a slogan, it is a collective responsibility for those involved in football tocreate a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which the game can take place

19. PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

19.1 On and off the field, I and my players will:

●Adhere to the Laws of the Game

●Display and promote high standards of behaviour

●Promote Fair Play

●Always respect the decisions of the match officials

●Never engage in public criticism of the match officials

●Never engage in offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour

●Never engage in bullying, intimidation or harassment

●Speak to my team mates and the opposition with respect

●Win or lose with dignity. Shake hands with the opposing team and the match officials at the end of the game

19.2 I understand that if I do not follow the code any/all of the following actions may be taken by the organiser, County FA or the FA

●Be required to apologise to team mates, opposition or other persons

●Receive a warning from the organisers

●Be dropped or substituted

●Be required to serve a suspension

●Be banned from the competition

19.3 In addition the FA or County FA could impose a fine and/or suspension on the club

20. PERSONAL RISK

20.1 All participants entering into this competition do so entirely at their own risk and the organisers, their servants or agents do not accept liability for any personal injury or loss/damage to property howsoever caused. A copy of these rules shall be given to all participating clubs and are binding on the clubs and players taking part. A copy of the rules of The Laws of Small Sided Football are available from the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA or from
