This 52-episode anime series tells the saga of The Shadow Lord, an evil sorcerer who has taken over the kingdom of Deltora by destroying a magical object known as The Belt of Deltora. Throughout the course of the series, young warrior Lief, his mentor Barda and young Jasmine travel around the land of Deltora to return the seven gems to the belt and save the kingdom. Based on the successful children’s book series written by Emily Rodda.

Lief - Born just after the Shadow Lord conquered Deltora, Lief, sonof Jarred and Anna, grew up on the streets of Del City, breakingcurfew and evading the Grey Guards. All that changed whenLief turned 16 and Jarred told him the incredible history of theheir of Deltora and presented him with the Belt of Deltora.Armed with only a sword and a magic cloak, Lief set out on a quest he never dreamed possible.
Jasmine - After the Grey Guards orphaned Jasmine at the age ofseven, the Forests of Silence became her home. Used toliving by her wits, she has a very strong connection totrees and animals – especially her constant companions,the raven, Kree, and the small furry Filli. Jasmine decidedto join Lief and Barda’s quest after they found the firstgem in her forest home.
Barda - Throughout Lief’s childhood, Barda secretly acted as hisprotector, saving Lief from the Grey Guards again and again.Barda was a Palace Guard when the Shadow Lord’s evil planshatched. He escaped the Palace, and found safety disguisedas a beggar, living outside Jarred’s home. Barda would preferto search for the gems on his own, but he quickly comes toappreciate the aid and companionship of young Lief.
