You and your employees or agents will not be liable to me or to any of the persons who accompany me for death or injury sustained while on the Nature Reserve or for any loss or damage to my or their property.
I accept and have made the persons accompany me aware that we visit the Facilities at our own risk.
I will not bring any other persons (who haven’t been applied before) to the Nature Reserve without your express consent.
I and the persons who accompany me will be responsible for and will make good any loss or damage we cause in the Nature Reserve.
I also accept that the permission you gave may be revoked at any time either before or during our visit to the Nature Reserve.

  1. Activity could be conducted in morning or afternoon. The start time of morning session will be 09:30, 10:00 or 10:30. The start time of afternoon session will be 1:30pm, 2:00pm or 2:30pm, we will have the final decision.
  2. The maximum number of participants in each tour is 20, charged at $900. If number is over than 20, 2 tours will be counted and so on.
  3. The personal data collected will be treated as strictly confidential and will be used for our communications with you.

Visitor Guideline

  1. If you would like to change of Visitor Name List and Details

Once an application is accepted, visitors may not change their visit date and session.

Replacing visitor’s name could only be made at least three working days before the tour date.

NOTICES: Bounded by Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department’s permit regulation, late arrival will not be allowed access to the Nature Reserve

  1. Please equip yourself:

Please wear clothes in plain colour.

Terrain is gentle in the Nature Reserve. You will be more comfortable if you wear walking shoes.

Soft-drink vending machines as well as a snack kiosk are available at Mai Po.Suggest to bring with you a bottle of water.

Please come to Peter Scott Field Study Centre 10 minutes before roll call.

Never use flash when taking photographs

Mobile phone should be switched to quiet mode.

Please be silence in the Reserve.

No Smoking & No Littering.

No fishing, wading or swimming.

Please protect WWF Hong Kong property.

Please remain quiet in the bird watching hide, Do not poke your arms, cameras or telescopes out of the window of the hide and close all windows before leaving.

Do not disturb or take away ANYTHING including plant, animal or other life form from the Reserve.

Please stay with your group and follow the WWF Hong Kong staff or designated nature interpreter.

Follow the concrete path if there is one.Stay away from the bush.

Avoid touching birds' dropping. When leaving, clean your shoes bottom in the foot bath at the entrance of the Reserve and wash your hands

Do not disturb any wasp net

Do not touch any leaves of plant unless advised by the interpreter

Bring with you a bottle of water

  1. Adverse Weather Condition:

The visit programme will be cancelled if any of the following signal is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory (or Environmental Protection Department) within three hours before the scheduled starting time of your visit:

a Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above;

a Yellow, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal)

(Air Quality Health Index – Yuen Long at 10+ i.e. Health Risk at “Serious”)

WWF Hong Kong staff will contact you on the 1st working day after the cancelled tour, in order to help you to reschedule, where no surcharge is needed.

Other than the above condition, all kinds of programmes will commence as normal inother weather conditions without further notification. If participants do not show up because of personal reasons, no payment will be refunded. No rescheduling of visit will be arranged whatsoever.

In case of heavy rain or thunder storm taking place, visitors will be arranged to stay indoor . Any programme underway will be suspended immediately if typhoon signal no. 3 or above, and/or Yellow, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted, and/or Air Quality Health Index – Yuen Long at 10+ i.e. Health Risk at “Serious” . No refund or rescheduling will be made.

NOTICE: WWF Hong Kong staff has the final rights to reschedule, shorten and cancelled the tour, where no payment will be refunded or rescheduled.

HOW TO GET TO MAI PO

FROM SHEUNG SHUI:

Private Transportation

Turn off the highway (route 9) at the Pak Shek Au and San Tin signpost.

Go past San Tin along Castle Peak Road to MaiPoVillage (Map B).

Turn right along road signposted “Mai Po Nature Reserve”

The Mai Po Visitor Centre and car park (Map A) are opposite the Pak Hok Chau Police Post.

* We encourage visitors to reach Mai Po by public transportation due to the limited place of our car park *

Public Transportation

1. Mini Bus

In San Fat Street, next to Sheung Shui Landmark, take mini bus no. 17 (red top) to MaiPoVillage, about 20 minutes (Map B).

Alight at Tam Kon Chau Roadnear MaiPoVillage(Map B) and then 20 minutes walk through Tam Kon Chau Road to the Mai Po Visitor Centre. (Map A).

2. Bus

Take KMB Bus no. 76K departs from Choi Yuen Road opposite Sheung Shui MTR station.

Alight at station“Mai Po” near MaiPoVillage(Map B) and then 20 minutes walk to the Mai Po Visitor Centre (Map A).

3. Taxi

Take a green taxi from Sheung Shui MTR station to the Mai Po Visitor Centre (about 20 minutes & around HK$ 70 / trip).

FROM YUEN LONG:

Private Transportation

Take Route 3 towards Yuen Long. After Tai Lam Tunnel, go northwards towards Lok Ma Chau along San Tin Highway.

Exit from the San Tin Highway when you see the “FairviewPark” signpost.

At the roundabout, turn off at the “Mai Po” signpost and proceed along Castle Park Road towards Mai Po (Map B).

Turn left along road signposted “Mai Po Nature Reserve” (Map A).

The Mai Po Visitor Centre and car park are opposite the Pak Hok Chau Police Post.

In Shui Che Kwun Street, Yuen Long, take mini bus no. 17 (red top) to MaiPoVillage, about 10 minutes (Map B);

Alight at Tam Kon Chau Roadnear MaiPoVillage(Map B) and then 20 minutes walk through Tam Kon Chau Road to the Mai Po Visitor Centre (Map A).

Take KMB Bus no. 76K departs from station “Sun Yuen Long Centre”near Long Yat Road (Yuen Long MTR Station);

Alight at station“Mai Po” near MaiPoVillage (Map B) and then 20 minutes walk to the Mai Po Visitor Centre (Map A).

3.Taxi

Take a green taxi from Yuen Long MTR station to the Mai Po VisitorCentre (about 15 minutes & around HK$ 60 / trip).
