Position Title / OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Key Requirements / Qualifications and Experience –
Essential
  • Degree in Occupational Therapist from an Australian Occupational Therapist Council accredited course.
  • Current national registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA)
Desirable
  • Current membership with the Occupational Therapy (OT) Australiaand other professional bodies within field of practice.
  • Current Drivers License.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Occupational Therapy clinical speciality
Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide quality Occupational Therapy services to allocated patients as per Barwon Health, Program and OT service policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with patients, family and carers to ensure therapy and therapy goals are client focussed and that patients participate in decision making process about their health management program
  • Manage an appropriate caseload reflective of a competent level of experience
  • Contribute to weekend and Public Holiday Occupational Therapy services as required
  • Actively participate in the inter-disciplinary team approach through reporting at meetings, goal setting and other duties.
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with internal and external peers, stakeholders and clients.
  • Demonstrate competent verbal, non-verbal and written communication within the multidisciplinary team, stream, program, OT service organisation and with external agencies.
