WELCOME! I am so excited to have your student enrolled in Varsity Theatre this year at Deerpark! We will be learning about lots of different aspects of theatre arts and communication: self-awareness, team building, acting, technical theatre, etc. It is my belief that the skills and information learned in theatre arts promote autonomous and creative thinkers and problem-solvers, who become highly effective and contributive members of society. Curriculum will be coupled with sufficient opportunities to perform and create interesting, hands-on projects and productions. I sincerely look forward to sharing my passion for theatre with you and your student.

IMPORTANT DATES. Here are some important dates you might like to put on your calendar. If the date is bolded then it is REQUIRED for varsity theatre students. I will break students into 2 groups: Fall One-Act Cast & Spring One-Act Cast, so that they are only required to attend the rehearsals that apply to their specific play. I am happy to work around most conflicts when given proper notice (see deadlines below). More details about specific events and requirements will be distributed throughout the year.

DONATIONS. As a theatre department, we work hard to provide quality materials to students and offer scholarships to students who might be struggling financially when an opportunity arises that may require fees. If you care to make a donation, please send a check (made out to Deerpark Theatre) or cash in an envelope with the attached form. We recommend donations $2-$10, and all donations are greatly appreciated. Donations, however, are strictly optional. We understand that not everyone can contribute financially. A fundraiser will be held this year in addition to any donations.
