Deep Sea Fishing
Fishing Time: Approximately 4Hours
Our charter boats are equipped with the best electronics, outriggers, downriggers, gaffs and terminal tackle. Thirty-pound tackle is provided for general game fishing and fifty and eighty pound tackle for Marlin and shark fishing respectively. The rods and reels supplied range from Fenwick, Purlgas, Daiwa, Shimano, Everol and Penn International.
Osprey:
This is a 28-foot MAGNUM deep-sea boat, equipped with two Mariner 225-horse power outboard motors.

Zongoene:
This is a 26-foot MAGNUM deep-sea sport fishing boat, equipped with two Yamaha 115-horse power outboard motors.

Please note:
Apart from lodge fees, each angler must pay Mts 400 to the Port Captain, which is payable in cash, and the responsibility of the angler.
The price includes fuel, use of the skipper, gillie, all tackle and bait.
Any equipment damaged or tackle lost will be charged to your account.

Surf Fishing:
The endless beaches that surround Zongoene Lodge make for excellent surf fishing. Shore fishing is also possible from the river mouth. Species that you can expect to catch are: Kingfish, Couta, Grunter, Cob, Snappers, Skates, Sharks, Bream and Rock cods.
Fishing and Fly Fishing the Limpopo River:
Take a peaceful walk along the banks of the Limpopo and try your luck with some river species. Amble along past mangroves, and enjoy the bird life along the way.

Limpopo River Sunset Cruise:
A relaxing cruise up the river enjoying the sights, smells and sounds of the Limpopo river system.
Cruise Time: Approximately an Hour and a half.

Whale Watching – Only in season
Between the months of June and October every year, Humpback Whales migrate up the eastern coast of Southern Africa, and right past Zongoene’s front door. It is possible, weather permitting and sea condition permitting to go out to sea to view these gentle giants. There is also a variety of other marine life that you could see while out at sea, such as Manta Rays.
