Decent attitude important for success in policing affairs: IGP*
ISLAMABAD, September 12: Success in policing affairs can be ensured
through decent attitude with public as listening to complaints of people
with politeness can help to address their grievances to a maximum level.
It was stated by Inspector General of Islamabad Police Sikandar Hayat while
addressing policemen in `Police Darbar’ here at Police Line Headquarters.

(Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri, AIG Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui, AIG Special
Branch Waqar Chowan, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan, SSP(Traffic) Dr.
Moeen Masood, SSP Sajid Kiyani, SSP Malik Matloob, all the SPs, ASPs, DSPs
and other police officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
The IGP stressed for decent attitude of policemen with public for success
in policing affairs and said complainants should be behaved in polite
manner because this gesture can address their grievances to a maximum level.
He said Islamabad Police have initiated several projects for the welfare of
its staff and as a sequel of efforts to ensure implementation on them, the
personnel of the force would be provided better accommodation as well as
health facilities in near future.
He said projects for the welfare of policemen is on his top priority and
further steps would be taken for encouragement to policemen and improves their
performance.
The IGP said that Islamabad police force is committed to
provide protection and fool proof security. This responsibility would be
professionally accomplished in future with same zeal and zest.
The IGP also ensured to provide better working environment to law enforcers
and envisaged a set of measures for the welfare of police force. The IGP
said that issues of duty timings and leaves are being streamlined, while
pick and drop service has also been started.
The IGP urged all cops to use available resources with Islamabad police
force honestly for the better output and also for decent attitude with
officers and subordinates.
He said a zero tolerance policy against corruption would be pursued as this
menace seriously undermines the country. He asked to demonstrate honest
attitude in the whole affairs and to be sincere with the country which is
our basic identity.
Sikandar Hayat stressed to make Pakistan `more strong’ by accomplishing
professional duties with responsibility and foiling out the nefarious
designs of the mischievous elements.
He said Islamabad police have rendered many sacrifices in war against
terrorism and its personnel averted many threats with courage and even
sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
"We are proud of martyrs of Islamabad police who have written golden
chapter with their blood and ensured protection to the lives and property
of the citizens," the IGP added.
He said Islamabad police force is cognizant of challenges and every problem
will be countered through capacity building of the force and cooperation of
the community.
