Dear Year 7 Parent/Carer
We hold an evening very early in the new School year where we explain to you and your child some of the different and exciting ways in which HodgsonSchool works. I would now like to invite you and your child to this evening, which we call our Key Stage 3 Steps to Success Evening, on Thursday 9th September at 6.30pm in the School Assembly Hall. It will end by 9-00pm.
As an outstanding School, we have a continuing commitment to develop teaching and improve learning. We also place a firm emphasis on building strong relationships with and informing parents about their child’s education and how they can support them. The Key Stage 3 Steps to Success Evening is an important part of this process. It will take the form of a series of short presentations by members of staff who will explain aspects of life at Hodgson.
You will hear about the role of Progress Tutors, Anti Bullying Programmes, how we measure your child’s progress and maximise their potential, how you can use Moodle, the School’sInternet Learning Platform, the work of the Learning Support Department and how wework with high performing students. There will also be opportunity to learn about other aspects of life at Hodgson.
It is essential that parents and students attend this very important evening. You will benefit immensely from the presentations on offer. You will be given a clear understanding of how the School operates, how you can best support your child during their five years at Hodgson and how to work effectively with the School. As this is a formal School occasion, we ask all students to wear full School Uniform.
You will be able to park at the rear of School, accessed through the road connecting the front car park with the rear of School or directly from Moorland Road and also on the field opposite. I very much hope that you will attend and that this evening will enable us to work more closely together. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 9th September.
HodgsonSchool is always interested in receiving parental feedback. Therefore, at the end of the evening we would ask you to fill in a questionnaire.
Please ask your child to return the tear off slip to their Progress Tutor by Tuesday 7th September.
