About the College

Partap College of Education is located in a pollution free environment and established in an area of 5 acres. It’s a premier institute of education which was established in 2000 to meet the growing demand of quality teachers, who are going to lead new generation into the challenging 21st century. The college is recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Over the years the college has set a commendable tradition of initiative and excellence, and has grown into an institution of significant stature in the educational scenario. The college has been right from its inception a hub of academic, socio-cultural and intellectual activities. Various activities in and outside the classroom lead the young teachers towards sound professionalism. A sense of honour is incorporated in them so that they feel proud and elevated to become TEACHERS. The inspiring force is our Motto “STRIVE, SUCCEED, SERVE”.

This college has been successful in setting the trends in qualitative teacher education by its innovative strategies adopted by the highly competent faculty. The strenuous professional training through intellectual deliberations and extra-curricular activities lead to the development of attitude, aptitude and skills which ultimately develop a pride in them for becoming a TEACHER.

About the Conference

Both initial and ongoing Professional Development are necessary and important components of any profession. Teaching is no different. Initial teacher education provides the young professional with acceptable levels of knowledge and skills to launch one’s career and some degree of confidence and competence. However it is the ongoing professional development that comes through practice, reflection and further exploration into given field which serves to transform the novice into the expert. Teachers can work actively and collaboratively and encourage initiative in which teachers can generate, invest in and participate actively and equally in the professional development opportunities before them. Realizing a vision of a continuum of teachers career long professional learning that meets teacher’s individual learning needs and is balanced with school, local, national and international needs means reconceptualising teacher education and the role of teacher educator. Looking towards the global trends and techniques in this area, a strong need is felt to intervene in to this new field of Partnership and Collaborating Learning, Professional Growth and Continuous Learning with Professionals. This call for stronger partnerships that help connect teachers with their peers in their own institution and in other institutions to foster greater interaction leading to interdependence between different teacher education providers and stakeholders. These partnerships have to be underpinned by trusting relationships, shared goals, clear roles and responsibilities and willingness to share spaces to join up the opportunities for teacher learning.

Call For Papers

Papers are invited from delegates on sub themes mentioned above, not exceeding 2000 words including abstract, figures, tables, references etc. using Times New Roman Font Size 12 single spaced, paper A4. The papers will be reviewed by the review committee. The accepted papers will be published in the journal of the college, “PARVIEW” ISSN no. 2320-558X. It is requested that kindly send your papers through email- by 25th January 2016, so that it is reviewed and published. The delegates will be informed through email for the acceptance of their papers.

About Ludhiana

Ludhiana or Lodhiana is called after Lodhis, the dynasty which ruled Delhi from A.D. 1451 to 1526. Ludhiana city is known as the industrial hub of Punjab, whose roots go back to the 15th century. This vivacious city has turned out to be colourful bouquet of different cultures, thanks to its industrial status. Ludhiana has time again been called the Manchester of India. However, Ludhiana’s claim to fame is not its commercial enterprise alone. In Cultural and Educational fields, too Ludhiana holds an outstanding place. Punjab Agricultural University, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Christian Medical College, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital are some of the premier educational and research institutes. Really, Ludhiana offers a mesmerizing quick look into the world of machines and hosiery tempered with a thriving human touch.

Location

Ludhiana is the most centrally located district which falls in the Malwa region of the State of Punjab. For Administrative purposes it has been placed in the Patiala Division. It lies betweennorth Latitude30°-34'and 31°-01'andeast longitude75°-18'and 76°-20'. It is bounded on the north by River Sutlej which separates it from Jalandhar district. The River also forms its northern boundary with Hoshiarpur district. On other sides it shares common boundaries with Rupnagar district in the East, Moga district in the West, and Sangrur & Patiala districts in the South and South east respectively.

Climate

The maximum temperature during the month of February ranges around twenty degrees (20°C) and the minimum temperature ranges around twelve degrees (12°C). This is the best time to visit Ludhiana, and carrying proper woolen clothing is essential as winters are very cold here.

How to Reach Ludhiana

The Ludhiana District is very well connected in terms of roadways and railways. NH1-Grand Trunk road passes through the city, which connects it to Indian capital city New Delhi and to other important cities of Punjab like Jalandhar, Amritsar etc. NH95 connects the city to Chandigarh in southeast direction and Ferozepur in southwest direction.. Ludhiana lies on the main broad gauge line and is identified as a junction. The city is also well connected by rail network to Delhi and other important cities of Punjab.
