Dear Senior Parents, Guardians and Students of the Class of 2014:

It is hard to believe that Graduation Day for the Class of 2014 is just around the corner! Plans for this year’s Project Graduation are almost complete. Project Graduation is the late-night, drug and alcohol-free, chaperoned celebration for all graduates of the Class of 2014 on the night of graduation. This year, the cost of the event will be approximately $25,000. Monies to support this event are raised as a community-wide effort through fundraisers, grants, business and parent donations and participant contributions. The attached packet of information provides details of Project Graduation. It includes a permission slip and a list of frequently asked questions. Also included is a combined order form; there’s still time to order the items from the Senior Family Fundraiser Packet.

Since Project Graduation is the last time that these students will be together as a group, our goal is to have 100% of the graduating class attend. Project Graduation will be held at the JCC of Central New Jersey in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. The participantadmission fee is $35; additional tax deductible donations are greatly appreciated. Please complete the accompanying permission form and return with payment by May 30thso that we can plan accordingly for food and supplies.

Students will be checking in for Project Graduation immediately following the graduation ceremony on June 19th. Facilities will be available for changing at GL and the students are askednot to leave the school grounds after the graduation ceremony. Please do not plan family activities following graduation – there’s really only time for photos and good-byes!! Our graduates will snack on pizza while they await check-in and inspection. Students are bused to and from Project Graduation. The buses will return to Governor Livingston at approximately 3:30 AM the next morning. Parents/Guardians are responsible for arranging transportation home after the buses return the students to GL. Please note that the buses will return to GL within the prohibited driving hours for students with provisional licenses.

We would like this final GL activity of 2014 to be a positive experience for all. Please follow the procedures and rules for Project Graduation to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun-filled evening before you move on to the next phase of your life.
