Dear Salemwood Families!

Happy February! I can’t believe that the school year is already half over. We still have so much more learning to do! Tomorrow is our first Enrichment Showcase from 8:15-9:00 am where students will be showing families their learnings from their enrichment course. Hope you can join us!

Congratulations to Ms. Prudden’s and Ms. Frontinan’s kindergarteners for reading ONE MILLION words on Footsteps to Brilliance. This is quite the accomplishment!!

We have almost completed the ACCESS testing for our English Language Learners (ELLs). Students worked very hard on the different testing sessions. Please remember that all students in grades 3-8 will be taking the ELA and Mathematics MCAS. The testing window is from April 2-May 25. Students in grades 5 and 8 will also be taking the Science & Technology MCAS. Student attendance is extremely important. Teachers and students are working extremely hard to prepare for this computer-based test!

All students will be getting their report cards on Monday, February 8. Parent/Guardian-Teacher Conferences will be held next Thursday, February 8 at 6:00-7:30 pm. We hope you will be able to join us as this is a great way to learn about your child’s strengths and areas of improvement in school!

Jump Rope For Heart at Salemwood is off to a great start! Students in grades K-4 are learning the importance of developing heart-healthy habits; being physically active can be fun; and by raising funds to support research and education, they are helping to save lives across the country and in their community. Students are enthusiastically coming together as a community to support this great cause!

All school events areposted on our website. You can also subscribe to the school calendar!!

For safety purposes, if you do not notify the school of your child’s absence, we will send a Connect-Ed call to inform you that your child is not in school or tardy and ask you to call the main office to let us know they aren’t coming to school.

Please join us at the next PTO meeting next Monday, February 5 at 3:40 pm. We are looking for parent volunteers…we appreciate any and all help. Remember you put the P in PTO!!
