Dear Prospective Counselor in Training (CIT),

I am very excited to invite you to apply to the CIT program for SunSibsTravels the World 2018. We will be back at Camp Puh’tok in Monkton, MD(17433 Big Falls Road, Monkton, Maryland 21111)for the 5th year. Any 17year old who wishes to attend SunSibs should apply to the CIT program, even if he/she is new to camp. As aCIT, you are required to be present for the entire weekend of camp (including staff orientation on the Friday before campers arrive) and attend themandatory training offered in the spring (date TBD).

The CIT program is designed to help former campers transition into successful SunSibs counselors/activity staff. As a CIT, you will be exposed to all aspects of being a counselor such as helping staff with the daily care of all your campers, participating in camp activities and assisting with all meal and bedtime routines. The CIT Director and counselors/activity staff will act as mentors and provide guidance to you throughout the weekend. The CITwill be evaluated multiple times by the CITProgram Director and staff members, and cabin counselors.Each CIT will be provided with a daily check-in and final evaluation. At the end of the weekend, if the CIT participant passes the program,he/she will be asked back as a counselor by the camp staff directors. A failing score will require the CIT participant to interview with the staff directors the following year upon returning to camp, and the staff directors will decide if the CIT participant will be asked back as a staff member at Sunsibs.

When completing the application please PRINT and include a copy of your immunization records and insurance card. Applications should be postmarked no later than Monday, April26th, 2018. Failure to meet this deadline could jeopardize your chances of being a participant in the CIT program!

Please be aware the CITmustattend the following:

  1. Friday evening, May 25th, 2018 (staff orientation) – Monday, May 28th, 2018 (camp weekend).
  2. April/May 2018 CIT orientation(mid-morning through early afternoon, exact date/time TBD).
